The Ionian Islands region

Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian Islands, a complex of 7 beautiful islands in the western part of Greece.

It is located between the islands of Lefkada (to the north), Ithaka (to the east) and Zakynthos (to the south), which are connected with ferry daily and are ideal for day trips.

Kefalonia is considered as one of the most beautiful islands in Greece because of its many contrasts. It’s 250 kms coastline offers a wide variety of beaches with crystal blue waters, with dark sand, blond sand, red sand, small pebbles, larger pebbles, stone shores, from calm small ports to beaches that drop steeply and suddenly into the sea. Its high mountains offer breathtaking views, with the highest being mt Aenos (1626 meters high). There you may enjoy a tranquil walk in the national park, under the rare “black” pine trees, see the wild horses and breathe in the clear cold fresh mountain air, while enjoying the excellent panoramic views of the whole island. Don’t forget to take a jacket because you will get cold up there!

Apart from the natural beauty that the island offers, Kefalonia exhibits a rich cultural history, castles, archaeological sites, churches and traditional villages.

You will definitely not be bored for even one second on this beautiful island, since you have many places to visit by car, also take boat trips (on your own or not), horse rides, trekking days in mountain, relaxing on the beaches and even taking private massages by your pool.

Trapezaki

The area of Trapezaki is located in the south-eastern coast of the island. It is under mountain Aenos, and with great view to the sea, combining the high mountain above and the blue-turquoise sea below.

The area is quite and serene, with many local taverns with excellent cuisine, mini markets and bars, and a short drive to the capital, Argostoli, where it is nice to visit in evenings for a long walk by the sea front or on the “Lithostroto” walking area with many little shops open until late and the main square with many bars and pastry stores as well as restaurants.

The beach in Trapezaki is a sandy beach, which even during high season is never overcrowded, and ideal for children due to its shallow waters. Along the seaside you can walk as far as Lourdas beach, passing through smaller secluded beaches.

In this beautiful area, the Trapezaki Resort and Avra villas are located, and in one of the most favored areas of the island, since it is essentially in the “center” of the island so as to minimize the distances for your excursions all over the island.

We shall provide you with local insights, tips and detailed information for anything you may need. Kefalonia will surprise you and literally and without exaggeration can offer anything your heart desires.

"Private, home from home and delightful"

A lovely home with everything you need supplied, lovely garden, very clean, owners extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Location needed a car, some nice restaurants within few minutes drive, overall a fantastic and peaceful place to relax, would happily return
