About the home

Perched high on a mountainside amid olive trees and orange trees, Villa Franca boasts spectacular views of one of the most sought after coastlines in Sicily.

This property is an independent apartment in Villa Franca with its own entrance, living room, bathroom, well-equipped kitchen, and private veranda overlooking the sea and the enchanting town of Castellammare del Golfo, which sits at the foot of the mountain and is just a few minutes drive away. The main apartment, offered here, includes 1 spacious double bedrooms with heating and air conditioning. The Villa also provides private parking. (Please get in touch for details about the other two Villa Franca apartments.)The owners of Villa Franca are always on hand to help with any problems.

The Sicily region

Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean and it’s a popular travel destination with a volcano, beaches, mountains, and centuries of history and tradition.
The island is a year round destination. The long summer season will be ideal for beach lovers while Spring and Autumn season are the perfect time for mountain excursions, walks or cycling trips. Those who love skiing will enjoy from December to February the slopes of Vulcan Etna and Piano Battaglia in the Madonie Park.

The Trapani / Castellammare del Golfo area

Castellammare del Golfo (pop. 15,000) is wonderfully positioned in a bay in the north-west of Sicily, just 15 minutes drive from the Greek temple of Segesta, from the famous Scopello cliffs, and from the specialist marine nature reserve of "Lo Zingaro". Years ago Castellammare del Golfo was an important centre for tuna fishing but today it is known for its spectacular location. The town is perfectly suited for those wanting to stay somewhere with atmosphere close to beaches, like those at Scopello, Lo Zingaro and San Vito Lo Capo. It is also the ideal starting point for several of the most interesting cultural and gastronomic tours through the provinces of Trapani, Palermo and Agrigento in Western Sicily, given the easy access by car and other means of local transport

“Great place to stay with amazing view” this holiday stay was just perfect.. we did get what we expected, lovely sicilian house with a real sicilian lady Ms. Franca :) from the terasse we had amazing views Mver the village and see, we enjoyed our coffee every morning there.. ooooh wish we could stay longer. everything was well organised, no issues with paying or deposit, we were pickup at the meeting point on time. the road to villa france is a bit steep (you dont want to go without car :) ) but we did get used to it very quickly. we did not need anything during our stay, but it was nice to know that Ms. Francesca or her husband are there if needed. there are 3 appartments / so if you are a bigger group just ask if the other two are free too Hope we can return someday, to see if the garden is really so full with flowers :)

“un lugar tranquilo y acogedor” El lugar donde está situada la casa tiene unas vistas fantásticas. El camino para llegar es un poco malo, pero solo son cuatro minutos y te acostumbras rápido. Franca y Lorenzo son muy amables y te ayudan en todo lo que necesites, contribuyen a que sea un lugar muy acogedor. La casa es muy confortable, tiene todo lo necesario para que te sientas como en casa. Castellamare es un pueblo muy grande y turístico, con bastantes comercios (supermercados, bares, restaurantes...). La parte antigua y el puerto son muy bonitos para pasear. Y está muy bien situado para ir a visitar la reserva dello zingaro, trapani, segesta... Muy recomendable.

The holiday was wonderful! The accommodation was fabulous with everything we needed and of course the view was the most breath-taking one could wish for. Moreover, Franca and Lorenzo were excellent hosts; friendly, helpful and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed Sicily and plan to visit it again next year.

Myself and my husband stayed in Villa Franca in May. Franca and Lorenso were the sweetest couple you could meet. Very friendly and extremely generous. During our stay they gave us lovely fresh fruit and wine on two days. We were totally taken aback by their hospitality. It is a lovely place to stay and the weather is just georgeous. Will definitely return some day.

We were very happy with the property and Francesa and her husband were lovely. They even gave us some of their own lemons and fruit and a bottle of wine! We had a lovely time and the views were spectacular. We would love to come back some day.
