The Sicily region
With its fascinating beauty almost everywhere, lovely coastline, picturesque villages where you can test the excellent wine and authentic Sicilian cuisine, unspoiled nature and fashionable resorts, Sicily has everything you could possibly want for your holiday!
There are many places which are really worth visiting and spending time: Cefalu, Taormina and Mount Etna Europe's highest and most active volcano (3,323 meters) near Catania in the north east of the island, the majestic monuments in the Valle dei Templi (Valley of the Temples) of Agrigento, the beautiful Trapani area and Erice.
The coasts offer a landscape of fascinating beauty almost everywhere. There are hundreds of beautiful beaches, most famous are: Cefalu, San Vito lo Capo, Scopello, Taormina, Trapani, Pachino, Pozzallo, Marina di Modica and groups of marvelous smaller islands are scattered round the coast: the Aeolian Islands, the Egadi islands, the isle of Pantelleria and the Pelagie...
The west side of the island has beautiful scenery namely the Zingaro Nature Reserve (in the Province of Trapani), and the area of Monte Cofano with its ancient caves in Scurati. Between Trapani and Marsala, in the protected area of Stagnone, is the Via del Sale (The Salt Route) with windmills for processing salt, some of which are still operating, while others are set up as historical museums. An obligatory stop-off is the island of Mozia, once a Phoenician settlement, with the Withaker Archaeological Museum.

Guestbook for Trapani historical centre
Very nice, well equipped, comfortable and spacious. In a nice old building with lots of character. Apartment ideally located on quiet street in the heart of historic district near restaurants, pizzerias, local shops, port etc. Outside area was handy for having relaxing breakfast. Only problem was no advice was given on parking and our car was towed. 16/10/09
Excellent property, loved the patio and everything else.Trapani was beautiful, friendly, and exactly what we were looking for. 10/25/07
We loved it. The outdoor courtyard was especially great. We were very lucky to find you on the net and find such a character property to stay in in a prime position. We loved Trapani and Sicily. The people were all so friendly. We were very lucky to be in the old town area. I fell in love with the horse carts and plumage and would love to buy one if anyone can help me find some contacts?? We were lucky to see a cute pony all dressed in gear at Erice. Everyone from the America's cup loved Trapani and I'm sure there will be lots of positive spinoffs. 10/02/07
Very central. comfortablIt was really lovely - very well equipped and spacious - hairdryer, iron, washing machine etc.It was ideally located - just opposite the apartment is a little local store with fresh veg and wine and 3 doors down is a fantastic Pizzeria. The courtyard was fantastic for al fresco dining and drinking and we really couldn't fault it at all. This is a real find especially if you want to live like the Sicilains do! M.Pearse 02/04/2010.
The property surpassed our expectations, very spacious, with many attractive artistic touches. We spent most of the time on the large terrace, which was a private courtyard. Location great with all shops close to hand selling fantastic fresh produce. Had a great time in Trapani, and this is one of the best apartments we have ever stayed in! 12/09/2010
Apartment was great - sparkling clean and massive for two of us, with everything we needed. Also in a great spot, near to the beach and the main street, though we had no problem with noise at all. Trapani is fantastic - loads to eat and plenty to do.
S. James August 2011.
The apartment was conveniently located in the centre of Trapani close to shops and restaurants. It was well-equipped and benefited from a terrace where we could sit out and eat. The town centre is pedestrianised and without traffic noise, waking up in the morning to the sound of noisy seagulls made a change! The ferry terminal and bus stops were a short walking distance. Chika was very friendly and helpful, and made sure all our needs were met.
The historic centre of Trapani is very attractive with baroque buildings and bars spilling out onto the pavements. The local people were friendly and helpful - qualities sadly lacking in the tourist information office. There were some beaches near the centre of town, but the ones we liked most were towards Lido San Guiliano. Lots of good places around for eating out. The trips to the Egadi Islands and Erice were also well worth doing.
