Home description
Between the country and the sea, archeaological remains and natural reserves, the area of Castelvetrano/Selinunte is certainly one of the most attractive in the entire Sicily. Exactly inside this splendid territory there is villa Calypso, a lovely modern house recently built located not far from the sea (only 1,5 km) of the characteristic sailor hamlet and from the famous archaeological park of Selinunte (the biggest in Europa). Even though it’s in a lived zone, this villa offers an excellent quietness and privacy thanks to a high wall which surrounds all the 2.000 mq of the property. The garden around the swimming pool is composed by beautiful flower.beds, palms, olive and fruit trees. Attached to the house there is a big patio, where most of the space is covered by a roof that continues the archaeological style of the house. This part of the house is particulary pleasant and furnished with a big barbecue made of brick, which enables to organize lunch or dinner outside with any type of weather. The inside of the house is well furnished. It has also two covered car spaces, a pedestrian entrance and one for the cars with a big automatic gate. An excellent position to organize excursions even daily towards all the most know places of natural and cultural interest. Selinunte and the natural reserve sea of the river Belice is at 1,5 km, Castelvetrano 8 km, Segesta 50 km, Scopello and the reserve of the Zingaro 60 km, Marsala 40 km, Erice 90 km, Palermo 100 km, Trapani 80 km, Agrigento 90 km, Sciacca 30 km.
4-room villa. On the ground floor: large living/dining room with open fireplace, 2 double bedrooms, 1 single bedroom, 1 bath/wc, 1 shower/wc, central heating. Outside: garden furniture, 1 outside shower/wc, barbecue.

The Sicily region
The Elemi, Phoenician, Carthaginian, Greeks, Arabs and Normans settled the Western side of the island. In the past this area was called “ Val di Mazara; it includes hilly landscapes covered by rich Olive groves and well grown vineyards. Along the costal landscape you can admire not only beautiful beaches of golden sand that look over the African sea, as well as stretches of rock coast suitable for snorkelling and pleasure craft. This is the area of Tonnara” (Tuna fish processing farm), of “ Blue fish”, of the “ salt routes ”, of the Zingaro, of Moscato and Marsala, “ “ Liquid Gold”, of the Temples and Mosaics. Selinunte is the biggest archaeological park in Europe.
