House | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 6
Four independent, fully-furnished houses located on a hill 80 meters above sea level, next to the main building of the complex, are available for rent. Their position offers stunning views of the sea and of the surrounding countryside.
The main building has two large halls: one is used as a meeting place or reading lounge, where guests can relax in a comfortable armchair. The other hall displays traditional agricultural tools and equipment. Upon request, exhibitions, lectures, seminars and events can be organized in the halls.
A modern kitchen and a restaurant nearby offer excellent Sicilian cuisine, largely based on local produce. Dining outdoors on the complex's terraces is an unforgettable experience.
Upon request, our guests can use a swimming pool in a nearby residence, 5 minutes walking distance from the complex.
House Cuccio inside the property of Case Morello is located in an area known as S. Onofrio, between the small town of Trabia and the village of San Nicola, both renowned for their castles. Trabia, with 9,000 inhabitants, is well known for its 'gardens' of red medlars. The town, laid out on geometric lines, was founded in 1634 over a site of Arab origin. After the closure of the tuna fishery of the Prince of Trabia, which made use of local boats, today the town thrives with agricultural, commercial and seaside industries. San Nicola is an ancient fishing village, with a small, well-equipped tourist harbour.
The complex is about one hour from Palermo's airport and half an hour from Palermo City Centre.
From Case Morello it is easy to reach Monreale, Cefalù, Caccamo and its castle, the ruins of Imera with its important archaeological remains and other places of artistic and natural beauty.

TRABIA is along the 113 state road along the coast 34 kilometers from Palermo. This fishermen village was founded between the X and XI century around the Castle of the Princes of Lanza halfway between the sea and the hills surrounded by age-old olive trees and fruitful peach, medlar, and citrus trees. While it is difficult to establish the origins of this village, the remains of tombs with ancient ornaments point to an ancient past.
•The beach, the castle a sheer drop to the sea, the characteristic Saint Rosalia chapel, the splendid green hills, make Trabia a wonderful site with its blue sea and well-known hospitality of its inhabitants.
•Trabia is also known as the homeland of spaghetti. In 1154, the Arab geographer Idrisi in his volume dedicated to King Roger II, describes Trabia as “a plain scattered with large farms where pasta in produced is such a quantity to be exported in [the region of] Calabria and other Muslim and Christian countries…”. Trabia is also known for medlar fruit, the first fruit of Spring (between March and June). The medlar tree arrived for the first time in Europe in 1784 from the East, where it was extremely common in China and Japan.
CEFALU' On the Northern coast of Sicily in the middle of Madonie Park in the Gulf of Termini Imerese, Cefalù is 30 minutes from Trabia. The name Cefalù probably derives from the Greek “hephaloidion” or “kephalè” referring to the head-shaped mountain ("capo") overlooking the town.
Cefalù is a pretty sea town with a small picturesque port from which the sea front is visible with its walled town and arches underneath which the boats find shelter. The town was designed by the Normans, a beautiful example being the spectacular Norman Cathedral whose construction was commissioned by Roger II back in 1131.
Also worth visiting is the Mandralisca Museum founded by Enrico Piraino, baron of Mandralisca and located in the street of the same name.
Summer in Cefalù hosts several art and entertainment events for visitors: the most spectacular take place from August 2 to 6. Do not miss the “frottola” on the eighth Sunday of the Corpus Domini feast in June, a procession of allegorical carts that celebrates the Day of the Peasants.
SAN NICOLA L'ARENA is a lovely sea resort at approximately 25 kilometers from Palermo. The majority of its just over 1,000 inhabitants live of fishing. San Nicola l'Arena is mentioned in guides not only for its geographical position overlooking the sea but also because between the 1930s and 1940s it had extremely active tonnara for tuna fish fishing. Recently discovered documents seem to indicate this could well have been the first tonnara to obtain the Royal concession in 1367.
•Even today, three towers survive in the village, one large tower of battlements and other smaller ones on the other side. The small sea village, as previously mentioned, was created around the castle's main tower to alert inhabitants in case of the arrival of the Turkish invaders.
•In recent decades, a strategically positioned marina was built in San Nicola, which is still considered one of the better organized in Sicily. The marina is mentioned in all European specialized journals. In Summer, the marina hosts hundreds of boats that enjoy an almost natural shelter. Interesting places to visit include the Castle, the marina, the seafront, and the Church named after Saint Nicola from Bari.
