"A beautifully peaceful haven in the Loire Valley"

This is an exceptional property. Unique as it is a 17th C mill on the banks of a river converted into delightful accommodation. The hosts introduced the area so well that we didn't need to explore tourist offices at all. The welcome pack of local food and wine was extremely generous. The property was very quiet and secluded and the river flowed right beside our apartment. The apartment had a very adequate kitchen and bathroom, together with dining room and 2 bedrooms. The main bedroom window looked out onto river scenery which added to the peacefulness of the property. We had access to canoes, a BBQ and bicycles with no added charge. It is a very unique property and due to it's age a certain amount of understanding is needed as mod cons would be absolutely out of place here. It is nicely decorated and beds very comfortable. It was great coming back at the end of the day to relax and unwind in such a beautiful setting. And the hosts were exceptionally accommodating.

"Tranquil stay with great hosts"

Le Moulin des Monts was a great find! From the moment we arrived we were so delighted with the helpful assistance from our hosts David and Lise. From a thorough look at the Gite and its facilities, a targeted selection of brochures and maps with things for us to see and do - discussed with us in detail, local products for us in the kitchen, and the interaction with their family throughout the week including a trip to Savonnieres to see the Tour de France peloton pass by, we had a wonderful week experiencing the Loire valley. So much to see and do in this area... so pretty and lush. The mill is situated on the L'Indre river and the sound of water flowing was our backdrop for the hot weather. The Gite is in an 18th century building, so it is not a modern apartment, but the rooms are a good size, they look out of large windows onto the river, and the smallish kitchen and bathroom are more than adequate for your needs. More significant for us was the little things... toys and books for daughter, guinea pigs to feed and watch, and Tito the cat to pat and watch stalking bugs and other garden inhabitants! Nice restaurants in the town of Monts and further afield, with supermarkets and bakeries all within easy access. A recommended choice for this area.

"Fantastic location, great hosts"

We had the privilege to spend one week at Lise and David's Moulin de Monts and we loved it. It centrally located to visit the Loire Valley castles and quiet Touraine villages and wineries. Lise and David had put together an efficient “what/where/how-to red book” to guide their visitors on different activities like castles visits, sports, grocery shopping, restaurants etc.
The Moulin is quiet and cosy, the kitchen is well equipped for guests to cook and the bedroom is comfortable with a great view on the Indre River and the garden.
Lise and David are great hosts and they know how to make their guests feel at home and welcomed.
Thank you for an unforgettable week at the Moulin.

"best honeymoon I've ever had!"

My husband and I rented the ground-floor studio at the Moulin de Monts for the month of July 2012. We didn't have specific plans but wanted a lovely, low-key home base to visit Touraine and Bretagne. We certainly made the right choice.

The Bard family was incredibly warm, hospitable, and respectful from the day we arrived, even picking us up at the train station in Monts. The studio has a gorgeous view off the back terrace, and we spent many mornings and evenings there. It's a beautiful building that's been very tastefully updated and furnished with Moroccan and French touches. The town is rather sleepy but a short drive from Tours; the regional buses and trains are reliable and frequent, and we ate unbelievably well in Saché, in particular. The Domaine de Candé is also very close and has gorgeous grounds and views, besides the buildings and gardens. We generally traveled by foot and bike and had a fantastic lune de miel all around, thanks essentially to the Moulin de Monts and its proprietors. Merci du fond du coeur !
