The Loire Valley / Indre-et-Loire region

The Loire Valley was once the favourite destination of the French aristocracy which is why there are so many stunning ch?teaux. All the best are within a 25 minute drive of Domaine de Dugny; be sure to see Chenonceau which was built as a bridge across the Loire and Chambord, which is the largest in the region and one of the most recognisable in France. Ch?teau Chaumont-sur-Loire is the closest chateau to Domaine de Dugny and is famed for its stunning gardens. On a smaller scale, there is the Ch?teaux de la Loire en Miniature which hosts tiny versions of the 44 most prestigious ch?teaux. Most of the chateaux have activities for your kids to, such as mazes, play areas, bike and boat hire. The Loire River is the longest river in France and there are many beautiful views, picnic spots and walks along its banks. It is easy to hire kayaks and explore from the water. Other attractions include Beauval Zoo, described as one of the world's 15 best. There are more than 4,000 animals, the largest elephant plain in France, an African Savannah, one of the biggest sea-lion pools in Europe, white lions and white tigers. The Loire Valley is famed for its food and drink. Enjoy the flavours at the Sunday morning market in Amboise which has more than 150 stalls selling local wine, cheese, meat, fruit, vegetables, honey, fish, oysters. Tours is known as the city of 30 street markets, which include a covered food hall, a gourmet market held on the first Friday of every month and a fair dedicated to garlic and basil at the end of July.

Domaine de Dugny is an outstanding 4-star holiday village with free kids clubs, a popular pool complex and a small pond for boating and fishing. The parc is in the heart of a World Heritage Site on the northern bank of the Loire river and ideally located for exploring the 160 ch?teaux of the region.
