Washbourne House is situated in the heart of the South Devon countryside, halfway between the historical towns of Totnes and Dartmouth in the hamlet of Washbourne. The House is surrounded by beautiful countryside and with no neighbours close by you can let the kids make as much noise as they like, or enjoy a nice peaceful glass of wine on the patio.

The house has 3 bedrooms upstairs - one double bedroom, with large south facing window , another room with 2 single beds which also has a large south window and another bedroom with a single bed and pull out single bed. There is also a family bathroom.

Downstairs is a large well equipped kitchen - electric oven/hob, fridge/freezer, dish washer, microwave, washing machine, kettle, toaster etc. Also a large spacious south facing living/dining room with TV, DVD, Video, radio and CD player. The living room also has a woodburner for that extra cosy feel... there is also a shower and separate loo downstairs too. Outside is a patio area with table and chairs and a large lawn ideal for playing football or lounging in the sun. Private parking beside the house and gates that can be shut to make sure the children are safe.

The surrounding area is great to explore with the idyllic country pubs and beautiful countryside. National Trust properties not far to explore like Greenway where Agatha Christie stayed. The river Dart only 10 minutes away where you can catch a boat down to Dartmouth a lovely historical town with some unique shops too. For the children Woodlands Adventure Park is only 5 mins away and for the mums and dads Sharpham Vineyard is only just up the road too with lovely Cheese and Wine tastings!.

The West Country region

The South Hams: between the river Dart and river Tamar and south of Dartmoor, rolling farmland and wooded river valleys turning to beautiful estuaries, its coast very beautiful and remarkably well preserved – sandy beaches and mighty cliffs between those estuaries, amazingly little sprawling modern ugliness. Inland too, away from main roads, it remains surprisingly peaceful.

Among special coastal places are Dartmouth; sheltered Blackpool Sands; Slapton's long curve of pebble beach and nature reserve lagoon; the cliffs about Start Point and Prawle Point, Bolt Head and Bolt Tail; East Portlemouth's beach and Salcombe's location and views; Thurlestone proving that family seaside places don't need to be brash; Bigbury's huge sands and the fun of getting to Burgh Island; waterside, oak-wood-sheltered Noss Mayo/Newton Ferrers; many others, less easy of access, are for you to discover.

Kingsbridge and Totnes, both old, attractive and small, are the towns at the area's heart; Plymouth – the West Country's biggest town, with Naval base, ferry port, theatre, cinemas, history, Hoe (great views) and Barbican (where the life is) – is on the area's edge. Dartington Hall is an arts centre (films, plays, music, dance) with lovely gardens. Pleasure cruisers ply the Kingsbridge estuary and Dart and Tamar rivers.
