Cottage | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 3
Although just a few minutes walk from the centre of the bustling market town of Totnes, Garden Cottage is hidden away down a quiet street with no through traffic and the loudest sound is usually the birds in the trees. You approach the cottage through its private and very sunny garden. The cottage has a private parking space right in front of the gate.
Totnes is a fantastic base to explore South Devon. It has a great selection of shops, cafes and restaurants but is also close to some fantastic beaches and the wild open spaces of Dartmoor. There are also some great walks from the door.
The cottage was originally the changing rooms for a tennis court that belonged to the grand house next door, but it been beautifully and tastefully converted into a luxurious cottage perfect for a couple. However one additional adult or child can be accommodated on the sofabed in the open plan sitting room and kitchen for a small additional charge.
There is a good sized open plan living room with a stylish galley kitchen, dining table and chairs, comfortable sofa, flat-screen TV and a wood burning stove (with a basket of logs provided). Beyond that you reach the large and very bright double bedroom with a king-sized, brand new 6ft bed and a luxury bathroom with a walk-in shower. About this location
The Devon region
Situated in the South West of England, Devon is a great area to visit known for its beautiful hilly countryside, including Dartmoor, stunning sandy beaches and characteristic narrow, high sided Devon lanes. It's a great place for all kinds of outdoor activities including walking, cycling, swimming, sailing, fishing, horse riding and golf. However it also has some amazing old houses and country houses to visit. It's also know for its fabulous old pubs many dating back 500 years or more.
For a market town of just 6000 people, Totnes has an awful lot going on. There is a big live music scene. Dartington Hall and Schumacher College are just a couple of miles up the road and people visit Totnes from all over the world because it is is the first transition town see www.transitiontowntotnes.org/.
It is also within a short drive of South Devon's loveliest beaches and is only a few minutes drive from Dartmoor too. The river Dart runs through Totnes and has some amazing wild swimming spots see www.wildswim.com

"Beautiful little cottage"
I would definitely recommend to stay here. We arrived to Garden Cottage and welcomed by a already lit fire which was lovely! The cottage was absolutely spotless, and the facilities were faultless. It really was a lovely cosy tucked away cottage. We had a great weekend away here just before Xmas, so a big thanks for a great stay!!
