The Beach House apartment is situated on the ground floor of the Beach House on the esplanade of the delightful Totland Bay which sits in an area of Natural Outstanding Beauty on the North West coast of the Island. The views are unrivalled, and ever changing, looking across the Solent towards Bournemouth . It is very easy and relaxing to while away the time just gazing at the spectacular vista, especially pretty when the yachts are out. The beach itself is sandy when the tide goes out, and it is very safe and clean for family bathing. The Waterfront Restaurant and bar is 100 yards away, but there are other pubs and eateries in the area. Yarmouth is only a 3 mile drive away, which is full of pubs which also serve food. There are many beautiful scenic walks in the lovely rural West Wight, the most challenging one across the downs to Tennyson's Monument, where you can see the whole West Wight surrounded on 3 sides by the sea.
The apartment is extremely spacious, with open plan large kitchen/diner and lounge, 4 bedrooms (3 of which have King sized beds and the other has twin beds), 2 bathrooms and another lounge. It is luxurious and very well equipped for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. It has a small private garden and barbecue, but also the exclusive use of a beach hut, sitting on the green next to house. There is a dishwasher, laundry facilities, 42" plasma TV, Blue ray / DVD player. Big fluffy white towels are provided along with Egyptian cotton sheets. It really is a perfect spot for a wonderful family holiday.

About this location
The Isle of Wight region
The Isle of Wight is know as the Garden Isle. It nestles in the sea of the south coast of England and enjoys one of the best climates in the British Isles. It is very picturesque combining the best of the English countryside next to the sea. It is 22 miles across by 13 miles deep in a rough diamond shape. There is something there for everyone from romantic breaks for two to great family holidays to adventure holidays with many sporting activities available. The scenery creates a wonderful backdrop for such activities such as hiking, cycling, horse riding, golf, water sports etc . The many attractions will keep the family very well entertained if the weather is not quite up to beaching.
Totland Bay itself is a sleepy village by the seaside. It lies within an area of Natural Outstanding Beauty. The Beach is very pretty, sheltered, and extremely safe for bathing. It is on the north west side of the island and as such enjoys all the views that the stretch of sea known as the Solent affords. In the summer the yachting, particularly around Cowes Week is incredibly picturesque.
There are convenience shops, a post office, food take aways and pubs in the village, but the next larger village of Freshwater is only 2km away. In Freshwater there are banks, supermarkets, a library and other specialist shops. The large supermarkets are in Newport which is 16k inland; a weekly market is held here on a Tuesday. It is a fantastic location for a real holiday.

We are very disappointed that these guests were not happy at the Beach House. It is really important to us that all our guests enjoy their holiday in our apartment.
In response to their comments:
The house sits at the bottom of the cliff; with excessive rainfall such as we experienced during the winter and spring it is very difficult to prevent cliff water from escaping its normal channels of drainage.
The back of the house is not intended to be a garden for children to play in; it consists of a retaining wall against the cliff, with outhouses in front where the dustbins and equipment are kept.
The lock has been changed on the beach hut.
There is an electrical certificate for the property within guidelines for rented accommodation. The flickering is from dimmer switches, but they are safe and certified.
Regarding the cleanliness of the apartment, we use the most highly respected and recommended firm on the island. Cleanliness is something that is very important to us as hosts, which is why we use this firm and endorse their work fully, however we have passed this complaint on to them.
It must be pointed out that these guests are the first ever people who have stayed in one of our apartments and had their deposit retained because of the dirty condition that it was left in.
We do take on board any constructive feedback that we receive and endeavour to make improvements in order to enhance the experience for future guests at the Beach House.
