Home description

Casa Marina is located on a hillside overlooking the small coastal village of Mezquitilla and the Mediterranean Sea, which is only half a kilometre away. Here you have the best of both worlds, beach by day and then the tranquility of the campo in your own private hideaway.
The apartment enjoys one of the best views in the area.
There are miles of beautiful beaches within easy reach all along the coast, and usually with nearby parking. You will be surprised at how uncrowded many of them are, even in high season.
All amenities are nearby - shops, markets, golf, beaches and a great many very good restaurants. A good 3 course "menu del dia" typically costs less than 8€ and of course, being so near the sea, the fresh fish is fantastic.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region

This area is known as having the best climate on the Costa del Sol. The weather here is wonderful for most of the year. While the sun is not guaranteed during winter it is often possible to sit out and sunbathe, even in January! In fact the winter is often considered to be the ideal time for sightseeing.
There are many festivals which take place throughout the year and are always fun. One of the best is the Nerja Feria, which takes place in October and lasts for a week. Shops shut, schools close and the parties go on all night. Another good one is San Juan, on 23rd June. On the night of this it is permitted to camp out on the beach ( we can supply a tent if guests wish to join in) ,again the party goes on all night!


Torrox / Mezquitilla area

Mezquitilla is located midway between Torrox and Torre Del Mar. It is only 13 km from Nerja.
Being only five minutes from the motorway makes it an ideal location for anyone wishing to explore Andalucia.
There is something in the area to suit all tastes and interests. From lazing on one of the many beaches to walking in the beautiful National Park.
The popular resort of Nerja is just a 15 min drive along the coast and the very pretty white village of Frigiliana can be reached within a 20 min drive. For day trips the major towns of Granada, Cordoba, Sevilla and Gibraltar are all within reach.
For the more energetic, there is horse riding, go karts, scuba diving, golf, a waterpark and much more.
In winter it is possible to drive to the Sierra Nevada for a days skiing.(One and a half hours drive).


How to get there

Car hire is recommended.
Only 45 minutes from Malaga Airport.
The apartment is only 5 minutes from the motorway.
Detailed directions will be given from either Malaga or Granada airports.

The apartment has a double bed and a sofa bed which is suitable for one adult or two children. It is very well equipped with everything you will need for a comfortable holiday, including TV with some UK channels, books and games.
Fans are provided for your comfort and the bedroom and bathroom both have mosquito screens so you can comfortably sleep with the windows open, if you wish.
There are sea views from all rooms except the bathroom.
We supply a cool box, picnic basket and ice packs as well as beach chairs and parasol to take with you on trips out.

Further details outdoors:
From the drive you have your own steps leading down to your apartment and terrace.
Your large terrace has sunbeds, parasol, reclining chairs and a table and chairs for dining. There is also a BBQ.
The 8x4metre pool is located on the upper terrace, where there are more sunbeds overlooking that beautiful view.

While we are on hand to help with any queries or recommendations, we always respect the privacy of our guests.
As the swimming pool is outside our own home we ask our guests to kindly restrict their use of it to between the hours of 10.00am and 7.00pm, unless by arrangement. This allows us some privacy outside of those times.
All towels and linen for the apartment are included. We are happy to supply extra towels for the pool and beach. Please request these at the time of booking.
A generous welcome pack is included.
Check in time is at 4.00pm and check out 10.30am. Outside of peak season we may be able to be flexible with these times. Please ask in advance.
We have two very friendly dogs, Millie and Harry. Both rescue dogs. They are kept in at night and shouldn't cause you any problems, unless of course, you leave unattended sausages on the BBQ! Our previous guests have all been very taken with them.

Conditions

As we have an unsecured pool, the apartment may not be suitable for very young children.
Changeover day is flexible to allow you to book the best flights. Please ask.
We ask for a security deposit of 100 pounds. This will be refunded in full assuming the property is left in good condition. It will be returned to you after the apartment has been cleaned and checked. We take this only to cover unreasonable damage and have never charged for broken glasses etc!
We ask guests not to smoke inside the apartment.
Check in time is at 4.00pm and check out 10.30am. Outside of peak periods these times may be flexible. Please discuss your requirements in advance.
