About the home

Charming 4 bedroom villa with breathtaking views across countryside and down to sea, situated just 5 kilometres from Torrox Village and a further 2 kilometres to Torrox Costa and the coast. Torrox is only 5 kilometres from the town of Nerja. Outside there is a large patio area, swimming pool and BBQ.

Entrance is through bright conservatory, leading to lounge with air conditioning, sat tv, music system, fireplace, comfortable furniture. Modern kitchen/diner with air conditioning, dishwasher, washing machine, oven/hob, microwave and fridge/freezer . Table and chairs situated by patio doors with views to pool and mountains. Also shaded area and BBQ. There is one double bedroom with en suite, two twin bedrooms (one with en suite) and a single room (an extra z bed could also be supplied). There is a further full bathroom. Some bedrooms have ceiling fans and some have free standing fans.

The Costa del Sol region

The Costa del Sol is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, it's miles of beautiful sandy beaches and fantastic weather which have kept tourists flocking back year after year to resorts like Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola and Marbella. The Costa del Sol caters for young and old alike, offering a host of entertainment choices for the native and visitor alike.

The coast boasts one of the highest concentrations of world class golf courses, to the extent that it is often dubbed "The Costa del Golf". For families there are theme parks, including water parks, go-karting, safari parks and many beautiful public gardens. For younger visitors the main areas of attraction are Benalmadena's Puerto Marina & '24 hour square' and Marbella's Puerto Banus. Both are very trendy and chic, but be warned the bars and clubs don't get busy until near midnight and stay open till dawn.

The area's history dates back to the Phoenicians and has since been inhabited by Greeks, Romans and Moors, all of whom have left their mark on the areas architecture and culture. Perhaps less well known is the areas culture, often in the shadow of its neighbour Seville, The Costa and the Malaga province are home to some of the finest Flamenco shows, bull fighting & tapas restaurants

The Torrox / Torrox Campo area

Nerja is on the seashore some 50 kilometres from Málaga on the N340 coastal highway, and marks the eastern tip of Málaga's Costa del Sol. Once a sleepy fishing village, the town now has a population of over 12,000. Nerja boasts 16 kilometres of beaches with powdery sand and sparkling clear water. All major water sports are available here, including water skiing, scuba diving and sailing.

Flanked by a dramatic mountain range, Sierra Almijara, to the east, the town has, fortunately, managed to avoid being blighted by the concrete high-rise scenario which has been the inevitable result of the tourist boom in some of the coastal resorts. The old quarter of the town is still virtually unchanged with narrow, winding streets, whitewashed houses with wrought iron terraces overflowing with geraniums, on which a canary can sometimes be heard singing...

However, the heart of Nerja is its spectacular Balcón de Europa, the "Balcony of Europe", a magnificent promenade along the edge of a towering cliff, once the site of the great Moorish castle, with sweeping panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the small coves and beaches below, against an awesome backdrop of hazy blue mountains.

There are plenty of restaurants and cafes here to choose from, and the visitor can hire a horse-drawn carriage to explore the most romantic corner of the town. The town's monuments include the 17th century Church of El Salvador, in a style which is a charming mixture of baroque and Moorish, or mudéjar, and the beautiful Gardens of Capistrano Playa, which descend to Burriana Beach.

However, Nerja's most spectacular attraction is undoubtedly its fascinating caves, located just three kilometres from the centre of town. They include archaeological treasures such as paintings over 20,000 years old and other pre-historic remains. One of the enormous natural caverns has been transformed into a concert hall, where many performances are staged during the summer.

Malaga Airport is 6km from Malaga City and 50km (45 minutes mainly down the motorway journey by car) and a very straightforward journey to Nerja. On leaving the airport keep in the right hand lane and take the E340 towards Motril, which will bring you to the Nerja exit, from there we will supply easy directions to find the accommodation. .

There are frequent flights to Malaga, by scheduled and many budget airlines from all over the UK and Nerja is only 2 hours from the Sierra Nevada Europe's most southerly ski resort and a couple of hours drive to Granada.

A car will certainly enhance your visit as there is so much to see and do, but it is not actually essential to enjoy Nerja and there are plenty of local companies who can organise trips to Grenada or Gibraltar which is about 2 and a half hours drive away.

If you don’t want to hire a car (we use www.marbesol.com) we can arrange a transfer from the airport (taxi charge is 70 euros for up to 4 people each way and minibus charge is 110 euros for 5 – 12 people each way. NB Unsocial hours –taxi 75 Euros, Minibus 150 Euros).

Comments : I couldnt fault this villa. it was extremely well kitted out. We cooked everynight and had every pot pan and utensil we needed. spotless inside and out. Such beautiful views: we felt like king of the castle.

Dean and carol were very welcoming and offered any help we needed.

The track up there was a bit challenging at first, then it became 2nd nature and we were really glad of the almost exclusive location. would definitely recommend.
