CASA CLARA is a comfortable, relaxed , home-from-home but with views of the mountains and a swimming pool!
great for a peaceful , romantic get away or a family holiday with the lively village of Torrox only a 5 minute walk and the beach a 10 minute drive.
Torrox provides the perfect base to explore Andalucia. You can explore the historic towns and white villages of Competa and Frigiliana. You can also visit the famous Nerja Caves and the abandoned and recently restored El Acebuchal village and sample the traditional food offered by the local family run restaurant.
The beautiful city of Granada with the magnificent Alhambra is only 1.5 hours drive, and also Cordoba and Seville are quite accessible. There are many leisure activities such as golf, horseriding, walking, snorkeling and scuba diving. During the year there are lots of feria (festivals) in different nearby towns and villages.Overlooking the Mediterranean, the 11th century village of Torrox is a typical white-washed village with many steep streets and pretty squares. Protected from the north winds by the Tejeda and Almijara mountains the average temperature sees little difference between winter and summer. It is for this that Torrox boasts having 'the best climate in Europe'.

The Andalucia region
The Costa del Sol stretches along 150km of Málaga province and is one of Spain's most popular destinations, with its wide sweeps of golden sand. The area's mild climate is the main attraction – visitors and residents alike can enjoy the beaches, as well as alfresco dining plus a wide variety of outdoor activities, all year round.
WHAT CAN I FIND ON THE COSTA DEL SOL?
The area is famous for its hundreds of beaches to be enjoyed along this coast, from quiet, hidden coves to lively stretches of sand with beach clubs populated by people from all over the world.
One of the most popular pastimes on the Costa is golf – there are over 50 golf courses in the area, with stunning mountain and clifftop locations, offering spectacular views over the area’s varied landscapes, and down to the sea.
Less well-known, but definitely worth a visit, are the many stunning national parks around Malaga province, often located just a short, easy drive inland. You can go hiking, caving, wild swimming, four-wheel-driving, horse-riding and countess other adventurous activities. For a less strenuous day out, the villages of the Axarquia region are some of the most picturesque in all of Spain.
Torrox is situated 46 kilometres east of Malaga. Torrox Costa on the coast, and Torrox Pueblo 2 kilometres inland and 120 metres above sea level. Torrox lies within the area of Axarquia, on the scenic Route of Sun and Wine, and has a residential population of 16,500 which increases with tourism during the summer months.
On the last Sunday before Christmas each year, Torrox holds its annual Migas Fiesta. Migas is a dish with a base of corn flour, olive oil, water and garlic which is a traditional dish for harvest workers. In Torrox it is accompanied by a salad of tomatoes, oranges and olives. More than 40,000 visitors attend this fiesta for whom migas is cooked in large frying pans throughout the town. The dish, accompanied by plenty of wine, is offered to all whilst music and dance performances take place in the pueblo´s main square.
Torrox Pueblo has retained its white Moorish village structure with attractive narrow streets and a main square which is a lively and focal meeting place. Much of the town has beautiful views down to the coast. There was once a Moorish castle on top of the hill on which the town stands where, it is claimed, King Almanzor was born in the 10th century. During Islamic occupation, Torrox prospered in agriculture and the silk trade. 16th century buildings include the Mudejar style church of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación and the Shrine and Convent of the Virgen de las Nieves.
Torrox Costa has two splendid maritime promenades with attractive restaurants and bars and 9 kilometres of wide sandy beaches. Either side of the main area are more rustic low rise buildings and bamboo fringed beaches. El Morche, on the coast to the west of Torrox Costa, is a small unspoilt sea-side village. To the east of the main town, alongside the lighthouse, the new 'Balcon de Torrox' has been constructed as a lookout to the sea.
