The West Country region

North Devon is perfect holiday destination, whether you like walking, cycling, surfing, exploring the villages or visiting the sandy beaches, there's an amazing range of activities to suit families, friends or couples.

The Threshing Barn is situated in a quiet and peaceful area. The village of Beaford is 2 miles away and it's just 5 miles from the Cavalier Town of Torrington, making it a convenient place to holiday, close to a huge range of amenities such as RHS Rosemoor Gardens and Torrington 1646.

You can watch glass being blown at Dartington Crystal before enjoying a traditional Devon cream tea in the adjoining restaurant. Family theme parks such as The Big Sheep and The Milky Way are a short distance away and offer families of all ages a great day out. Other interesting places to visit include Clovelly, a cliffside fishing village with steep cobbled streets leading down to the harbour. The market town of Bideford with its weekly pannier market, Burton Art Gallery, Victoria Park and historic quayside are worth a look.

For those who enjoy walking or cycling the Tarka Trail (a former railway line which runs from Braunton - Meeth) is nearby and offers a safe and level walkway for children and adults, with a few welcome watering holes along the way.

You also have sandy beaches nearby, including Northam Burrows and Saunton Sands.

"Country luxury"

This was an amazing place to stay with a group of friends and children. Positioned overlooking rolling fields, and with a swimming pool to boot! The bedrooms were very comfortable, lovely period features, and a large kitchen with all facilities. Nice walks in the area, and cosy fire for evenings in.

"Fabulous place to stay with friends"

Rented both properties with a group of friends and was brilliant. Excellent facilities, immaculate decor and lots of space. Even in December it was lovely with beautiful views into the valley and the wonderful log fire made the barn feel cosy and warm. Swimming pool an added extra - too small for doing lengths, but a treat for the kids to splash around in. Great location for trips to north Devon sights. Highly recommended.

"Escape from the maddening world"

We stayed here with a group of friends last year and it was everything we imagined and more. The barns are beautifully decorated and you can see the care and attention that has been spent. The rooms are spacious, swimming pool is fabulous for the early morning dip and play with kids. It was so lovely to wake up to the most amazing views and misty starts to the day. The lounge was spacious and made chilling out as a large group easy - especially nice with the log burner going. Would recommend this place to family visitors, large groups or couples.
