The nearby town of Torrington known as the Cavalier Town from the Civil War of 1646 is well worth a visit and boasts an arts centre the Dartington Crystal visitor centre and popular RHS Rosemoor. The seaside town of Westward Ho! is a short drive away and offers keen surfers body boarders and bathers 2 miles of golden sands to enjoy and pretty Instow a great opportunity to indulge in a Hockings ice cream! Other nearby attractions include the quaint fishing villages of Appledore and Clovelly The Big Sheep and The Milky Way and the market town of Bideford with its weekly pannier market access to the Tarka Trail Burton Art Gallery Victoria Park and quayside. Farm activities: guests are welcome to see the animals including sheep and cattle and help feed the lambs when in season. Leisure facilities: on-site fishing lake full of carp roach tench and rudd available for guests to use (by arrangement with and payment directly to the owners).
