Durrie Cottage (known locally as Blue Chimneys) is a cosy traditional croft house in the West Highland village of Torridon with stunning views over Upper Loch Torridon. The cottage sleeps four people and has two bedrooms (one double, one twin), a large bathroom, shower room, galley kitchen and two living rooms as well as a large enclosed lawned garden with uninterrupted views across the loch. Durrie Cottage has no TV, telephone or internet so offers the perfect opportunity to escape from city life and enjoy the remote splendour of the Scottish Highlands.

The Ross and Cromarty region

The village of Torridon sits on the shore of Upper Loch Torridon, at the foot of Liathach. The mountains of Beinn Alligin, Beinn Damph and the Beinn Eighe nature reserve are all within easy reach.

The location is ideal for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits, walking, climbing, mountaineering, cycling, kayaking, photography, sea fishing, bird watching or simply enjoying the views.

Torridon is just over one hour's drive from Inverness, the capital of the Highlands which is easily reached by air or rail.

"Beautiful place, beautiful vieuw, beautiful cottage"

Really nice, the landscape is amazing, but it could be cleaner there is a lots of dust and spiderweb.… More

Thanks for your review Marie. We're pleased that you loved the view as much as we do but very sorry to hear that you thought the cottage could have been cleaner. We hear that the spiders have been enjoying the unusually dry weather so we've invested in an extendable feather duster to make sure we can reach any out of reach cobwebs. We're at a loss to explain where any dust might have come from but Sheila who looks after the cottage takes great pride in keeping it spotless and will always pop round to make things right if guests let her know that they're not happy.
