The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region
Arguably the most famous coast in Spain, Costa Blanca draws millions of tourists each year. Alicante is the capital and major city of Costa Blanca. Lying on the Eastern coast of Spain, south of Valencia , the city of Alicante is one of the more popular towns of the Costa Blanca. Alicante has some of the finest beaches, stretching for several kilometers and attracting countless sun worshippers and pleasure seekers. Indeed, the sun in Alicante shines endlessly. Wanting for more? White-sand paradises, turquoise sea, excellent golf courses, festivals, castles, parties -- they abound! The city is indeed a hive of activity throughout the seasons. Moreover, Alicante has an interesting history and is rich in culture.
The place offers every amenity a tourist could want. With a safe, kindred atmosphere, safe waters and a host of activities to do, it is ideal for family vacations. It also has a lively nightlife, with hundreds of bars and clubs catering mainly for English-speaking tourists.
There are good quality, cheap bus services within the main resorts and to towns in close proximity. Taxi cabs are also good value, especially for those traveling as a group. There are also some affordable, local car rental companies, best with those wishing to explore off the beaten paths.
Torrevieja Town area
Situated within the district of Vega Baja , Torrevieja is contained within town boundaries that are adjoining to Guardamar del Segura to the north, Rojales and Benijófar to the west, Montesinos and San Miguel de Salinas to the southwest and the Orihuela beaches to the south. This coastal town in the south of Alicante province has a population of 81,080 inhabitants.
Torrevieja is 41 kilometers away from Alicante to the north, 23 kilometers from Elche to the northwest, and 53 kilometers from Murcia in the southeast. Torrevieja has a protected Natural Park with two salt lakes, and 20 kilometers of beautiful coastline containing six large beaches - Los Locos, El Cura, La Mata, Cabo Cervera, Los Náufragos and Ferris - and about 20 coves with an abundance of cliffs, all certain to take your breath away.
Fiestas, tapas bars, great restaurants and clubs - there's more than enough to keep you amused until the small hours in Torrevieja.
Stroll along to the marina to watch the fishermen land the day's catch then settle down by the seafront at one of the many bars and street cafes to watch the sun go down.
Every evening in the summer months there's a street market selling a variety of arts, crafts, clothing, leather goods, jewellery and souvenirs etc. There's also a big fairground and you'll normally find various artists and street performers providing entertainment around the town in high season.
How to get there
Torrevieja is a mere 30km from San Javier, Murcia airport or 45km from Alicante airport.
Direct flights are available to Murcia or Alicante through airlines such as: Easyjet Aer Lingus FlyBMI RyanAIr Jet2.com

The apartment is a 45 minute transfer from either airport. Pickup facilities and welcome pack are available upon request. Car hire is available from both airports. Should you decide to use your own transport, arrangements can be made for key collection. However we believe car hire is not necessary due to the excellent and readily available public transport facilities within Torrevieja town.
Should you decide to venture beyond Torrevieja Town, cheap car hire is available and recommended through www.carjet.com, as it offers excellent prices all year round.
