The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

Torrevieja is about a 40 minute drive along the N332 motorway from the city of Alicante and about a 40 to 50 minute drive to Murcia and Cartagena in the other direction. There are excellent public transport links to these beautiful historical cities and many other towns and villages in the vicinity.

Torrevieja Town / Rosaleda/Los Locos area

The coastline of Torrevieja has six Blue Flag sandy beaches, including Playa de Los Locos, which is about 5 minutes' walk from the apartment. Torrevieja town centre is a pleasant walk of about 20- 25 minutes along a beautiful promenade. There are regular local bus services. The town is bordered to the north by two large salt lakes which help keep the climate dry. The lakes' salt water and mud is reputed to be therapeutic for the skin. There is an excellent variety of bars and restaurants offering meals to suit every taste and budget. Most welcome families with children. There is a very large Friday morning market in the centre of town which sells everything from food and clothing to ceramics and souvenirs.

How to get there

Many airlines provide low cost flights to Alicante or Murcia airports, including Jet2.com, EasyJet, Ryanair, Monarch, BMI Baby, Flybe, Thomson and Flyglobespan. Airport transfers can be arranged from either Alicante or Murcia. Cars can be hired online from www.carjet.com.
