Home description

Our holiday home has spacious accommodation and is close to shops and bars.This is an ideal location for a golfing holiday and is a short drive from the sandy beaches.There is a communal swimming pool and the TV has all the main British stations.

There are a number of bars and restaurants opposite the villa which are very reasonably priced. If you are looking for a really good place to eat there is a great restaurant to the north of La Siesta, called Tara's Restaurant. It is in the same block as a bar called Churchills, about a 15-20 minute walk away.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

Costa Blanca can be found to the south, with vast stretches of orange groves and sandy beaches.The Spanish coastal town of Torrevieja is situated about 30 miles south of Alicante, in the region known as the Costa Blanca (White Coast).

The Costa Blanca, protected by the mountain ranges enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate with year-round sunshine. Temperatures reaching 35 C, on a regular basis. The area boasts 320 days of sunshine each year. Even in winter the temperature rarely drops below 15C.

The Costa Blancas (White Coast) favoured for holiday homes and second homes by the Spanish themselves offer healthy Mediterranean climate and all year round sunshine fanned by cooling sea breezes.

Torrevieja area / La Siesta area

Our holiday home is idealy situated for a golfing holiday. Torrevieja golf holidays are quite popular, and the area boasts a number of championship courses. Top courses inslude the outstanding Villamartin golf course, Las Ramblas and Don Cayo.

The main attraction of Torrevieja are the salt lakes. The concentration of salt in the lagoons helps to draw the moisture out of the air. This, combined with the very low annual rainfall, creates the unique microclimate. The long sunny days, with an average temp of 20 deg. centigrade, make this area ideal for sufferers of Rheumatism, Arthritis and Asthma.

Torrevieja is an ideal location for a summer or winter sun holiday with an average of 320 days sunshine
each year.

La Siesta is a residential suberb of Torrevieja, about a 10 minute drive from the town centre. There are also regular buses into Torrevieja, which run roughly every half and hour and are very inexpenive.

Torrevieja facts:

-Torrevieja is one of the fastest growing towns
in Europe
-One of the largest street market in Spain is held here every Friday. Close to the harbour, you will find the craft market. A small, permanent fun fair has its home just off the Promenade too.
-The sandy beaches are amongst the cleanest
in Europe.

-There are two Aqua Parks. We have left some discount vouchers for the Aquapolis park at the house.
-Eating out is very reasonable. There are some nice restaurants within walking distance of the house, and numerous great places to eat in Torrevieja. See our tips page for tried and tested places to eat.

The nearest airports are Alicante or Murcia. Airport pick up and drop off can be arranged for a small charge paid locally.This is paid for locally and costs about 20 euros, (depending on choice). We can assist with flights, insurance, car hire and airport parking if required.
