The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region
This is Valencian region’s southernmost province, its entire length of shoreline (the Costa Blanca or, literally, White Cost) caressed by the Mediterranean’s soothing sea breeze. Warm sandy beaches and curving dunes lie interspersed between sheer stretches of cliff and rugged coast, shading the local geography in hues of white, blue, ochre and green. This is one of Spain’s leading tourist Meccas, and thanks to the scenery, facilities, the quality of its towns and warm friendliness of its people, Torrebieja is host all year round to intense tourist activity, attending visitors’ needs with pleasing efficiency.
The region manifestly Mediterranean in nature, basking (the coast particularly) in bright sunlight throughout the year and blessed with an average temperature of 17.6 degree (63.7F), has a number of towns and cities in which there are high-tech factories-specialising in footwear, textiles and clothing, turron(the local almond-based, nougat-like sweetmeat, particularly popular at Christmas time), toys and ice-cream as well as modern hotels, holiday accommodation and spacious residential estates where many a foreign residents has established a second home. Owing to the area’s cosmopolitan composition, conversation in English, French, German or Italian can be frequently heard in Costa districts.
Torrevieja area / Los Altos area
Torrevieja itself a tourist resort whose life resolves around sea and salt. The two lagoons are interconnected and from La Mata, they enjoy a direct outlet to the sea via the Acequion channel. The salt of Torrevieja-a town lying 48 kilometres (29 miles) from Alicante-is exported to all parts of world from the local port. At the far end of the Paseo Maritimo (seafront promenade) are the wharves where the freighters load salt bound for Cuba. These same ships return to the lilt of island habaneras (a style of Cuban Song), a tradition that adds zest to the extremely popular choral music contest sponsored by the town each summer.
The island town of Orihuela is the district capital. Outlying suburbs verging on sand and low bluffs have saved to create tourist area of real quality, thereby ensuring that the large numbers of visitors are properly catered for. Punta prima, Playa Flaminca, Lazenia, Cabo Roig and Dehesa de Campoamor are just some of the resorts dotted along this southern rout. Several of these now specialising in organising golfing holidays, combining vacation stay with the chance to play golf at some of the excellent local courses.
How to get there
Fly to murcia -San Javier airport -Los Altos is just 15 km from the airport. Or to Alicante 70 KM to Los Altos Cheap flights available from Easyjet.co.uk Ryan air, Monach airline from London and other uk airports. Car hire available from most car hier firms includin Hertz,Local buses run regularly between the airport and the town. There are always local taxis available - fare should be no more than 35 Euros from San Javier (Murcia) airport or 50 Euros from Alicante Airport and can arranged in advance.

Conditions
I would like to write to say how much we enjoyed the Townhouse in Los altos, the house is beautiful, its communal swimming pool which was fantastic it was so clean and we loved it so much. In the evening the patio area was ideal to eat outside. The air conditioned which was especially good at night. We could see various places while there, its a good base being in Los altos because we could travel south to La manga for the day to Benidorm and Calpe to the North, and Murcia, A really interesting city. The beaches were excellent and the sea wonderful, but we loved getting back to the house to enjoy the excellent balcony. The English t.v was quite handy and we enjoy the roof terrace. The supermarket close by was lovely and facilities within easy walking distance were great comfort for the entire duration we had have no problem getting about. Derek and Pat were very helpful and the neighbours over there were excellent. Would I go Back? YES PLEASE I have stayed in many places all over Europe and I can recommend this as a fabulous luxurious holiday........Thank you." Angelina Shearly
