Daily market in Torrevieja. Superb street market in La Mata every Wednesday and Playa Flamenca every Saturday. five golf courses nearby including 3 in VillaMartin area. There is an aqua park and nature reserve close by. There is a cinema, bowling alley and go-karting all within a short drive.

"Great time with excellent weather in October"

That was our first stay in La Mata region in October and we were pleased by the very nice weather, allowing to enjoy the outdoors very much.
The property is very pleasant and well equipped. We enjoyed especially the balcony and roof terrasse where we had most of our meals, from breakfast to dinners.
Excursions to the surroundings are made easy as there is little crow at this season, and still a fair number of eateries were open in La Mata and on the beach front.

"Lovely new apartment close to the beach"

Booked this apartment for my husband, me, mother in law and sister in law. The apartment is very new hence the building work still taking place across the road. We spent several days sunbathing on the lovely roof terrace and did not find the work going on a problem. Fantastic brolly on the roof if you like the shade. On arrival our transfer driver was unsure of the roads around the new apartments and on hindsight this should have alerted us to the problem we were to have on pick up day when the return transfer never turned up. It was resolved by the company sending us a private local taxi, however, it made us quite late arriving at the airport for our flight home.

The apartment kitchen is very well equipped and had everyday items such as salt, pepper, spices, extra virgin olive oil etc. Plenty of crockery and cooking utensils. Also a separate utility room which houses the washing machine and is a very useful drying area. There were some cleaning materials and cloths but I always take my own.

Behind the apartment is a beautiful gated pool area and jacuzzi which is entirely enclosed so perfect for sunbathing and you also have the option of the beach at about 200 yards. The beach is very clean, safe and the water is lovely. Lots of beach cafes and restaurants for some time out of the sun. There is a good sized supermarket about 5 minutes away where you could find everything you needed for your stay. The stairs to the roof terrace are fairly steep and took a bit of getting used to, so I would not recommend for anyone who is a bit infirm. The apartment details state that it is not for suitable for small children and I would have to agree due to the staircase, I personally would not take children under the age of about 8-10. I think another handrail may be a useful idea. We were looking forward to using the BBQ on the roof but never did as I didn't feel confident about transporting all the food, drinks, plates, cutlery etc up the stairs. We spent more time on the front balcony having breakfast each day, lunch occasionally and in the evenings with drinks, as like the roof terrace from there you have a view down to the beach.

The apartment has two bedrooms, a double en-suite and a twin room. Very surprisingly the master bedroom only has a single built in cupboard with no long hanging space at all. Whereas the twin has three sliding door wardrobes. I had to put my skirts, tops, trousers and dresses in my mother in law's room. This may not be ideal if you are going away with friends, having to be in and out of their bedroom for what you want to wear.

In the evening you can take a stroll all the way along the boardwalk into La Mata town, again lots of restaurants to choose from and a taxi back was very cheap, about 6-7 euros. You can also go uphill behind the apartment where you will find lots more bars and restaurants, about a 15 - 20 min walk.

We loved La Mata and we will definitely go back but would I stay at this apartment again, unfortunately I would have to say no, purely due to the staircase. I would stay at Azul Beach but it would have to be one of the ground floor with walk out onto terrace which we admired while there.
