The Costa Blanca/Valencia region
The Costa Blanca has had a volatile history, and the influences of the Carthaginians, Romans and Moors can still be seen in the art, culture and monuments throughout the region. Not only does almost every town boast a museum, you can also see prehistoric paintings; walled towns and fortified villages; temples and aqueducts from the Roman occupation; Romanesque churches; Moorish baths, mosques and fortresses; monasteries; and medieval cathedrals and castles. There is no shortage of things to do and see on the Costa Blanca for the culture enthusiast.
Whatever your interests: culture, sports, thrill-seeking, fine cuisine or just experiencing local Spanish life, you can be sure there’ll never be a shortage of things to do on the Costa Blanca! Justifiably famed for its beaches and weather, the Costa Blanca has a lot more to offer than you might have realised
The beaches at Campoamor, Cabo Roig and Cabo Capatain are in easy reach, there is an abundance of restaurants, bars and shops all within walking distance of the villa.
The two main beaches of Cabo Roig (Cala Caleta and Cala Capitan) are both extremely popular and are kept very clean and well maintained. The beach bar at Cala Caleta is a popular place for a tapas snack and even a midnight cocktail or two, during the hot summer months and is often open until 4am. But be careful, negotiating your way back to the main road can be tricky by moonlight, especially when a little the worse for a beer or three!
One of the “must do” things whilst in Cabo Roig is to take a stroll along the picturesque cliff walk to La Zenia. This walk offers some spectacular views of the Mediterranean and the surrounding coastline, with the sports resort of La Manga sitting invitingly in the distance. A word of warning though - be careful in the evening time as it can get dark very quickly.
Water Parks in Torrevieja and Quesada to Safari parks of Elche, mountain Biking and Horse riding are all available.
