Home description

Two bedroom first floor apartment in a residential urbanisation in Playa Flamenca, furnished and equipped to high standards with hot/cold air conditioning unit, TV and DVD player. The spacious lounge/dining area has a bed settee, dining table / 4 chairs and coffee table. Sliding patio doors lead to a private balcony area with a table and 4 padded chairs, where you can dine or relax and catch the morning sunshine until about 1 o'clock . There are a few bars/dining places and also a small grocery shop within the apartment complex and a large number of bars and restaurants within a 20 minute walk away at the Flamenca Beach commercial complex . A quite beautiful blue flag beach is within 30 minutes easy, level walk of the apartment with a large number of alternative beaches within a very short drive. The famous Villamartin championship golf course and Las Ramblas and Camporanor courses are within 10 minutes drive away. Other courses including La Finca, La Marquesa, La Serena and Roda are within 20 minutes drive away.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

The Costa Blanca is an area of natural beauty situated on the south east coast of mainland Spain and offers one of the best and most extensive ranges of tourist amenities in the world through the quality of its services, its excellent climate and its cultural richness. Flanked by mountains and an overall diversity in terrain there is much to see and do from blue flag beaches, mountain trails, islands and nature reserves, to authentic Spanish villages as well as more cultured choices including a mix of established and recently regenerated museums, galleries and sites of great historical importance.

All of the Valencian coast beaches are controlled by the European Community which sets quality levels for the swimming areas. The most prestigious award is the European Clean Water Blue Flag, which means that the beach has achieved an optimum level for swimming and recreational activities. The Valencian coastline has 94 blue flag beaches, several of which are in Torrevieja, such as Los Locos beach, El Cura beach, Los Náufragos beach and the Royal Nautical Club.

The numerous Costa Blanca areas for leisure and entertainment has been further enhanced by the opening of Terra Mitica near Benidorm, one of the most modern and attractive theme parks in Europe.

Cuisine is another major draw, with an array of affordable local & international restaurants serving a mixture of dishes. Fresh fish is a major delicacy (similarly to many coastal areas), but meat also features prominently.

The Costa Blanca is well known for its mild climate & enjoys sunshine for in excess of 320 days per year. The sun is at its hottest during the summer months, with temperatures rarely falling below 30°C (86°F). Winters are typically very mild with averages hovering around 18°C (64°F).




Torrevieja area / Playa Flamenca area

Torrevieja is about 60km south of Alicante, 25km north of San Javier (Murcia) airport and is a beautiful little province town, built around a traditional fishing village with typical Spanish character with it's fountains, squares, churches and numerous restaurants, where you experience the real Spanish life not only during cultural and folklore activities, but every day on the beach and at the market places. The town also boasts the largest yacht harbor on the coast. It has in recent years grown to be one of the most popular and important centres on the Mediterranean sea for residential tourism. No "package" tours come to this area.

Torrevieja's seafront offers a lot of restaurants, tapas bars and street cafes on the very wide promenade which popular for the “Spanish evening stroll”. If you simply wish to relax and soak up the rays, then head for one of Torrevieja's sandy white beaches which have been awarded the EC's "Blue Flag" status so you can ensure safe bathing and quality recreation facilities for you and your family.

Torrevieja has a micro-climate which marks it out from other neighbouring towns being delightfully warm in winter and not too hot in summer. The proximity of two salt lakes of Torrevieja and La Mata (designated as National Nature Parks with over 250 different bird species sighted here), work in favour of good climatic conditions and with the pure air, the dry climate and the wholesome effects of the salt lakes, the region has been recently identified as one of the healthiest areas in the whole of Europe.

Torrevieja and its surrounding areas play host to three prestigious golf courses, where both national and international championships are held. A total of 54 holes, covering an area of 1,700,000 m² give shape to the Villamartin, Las Ramblas and Campoamor golf courses. The International Sports Harbour Marina offers the chance to practice different water sports, along with several hundred high quality berths.

Playa Flamenca is in the area of Orihuela Costa, is less than a 10 minutes drive south of Torrevieja and is on the main bus and taxi route. It has a very multi-cultural feel as many people from other countries now live in this area and actually outnumber the Spaniards! This area is a favourite for British and Irish ex-pats. Consequently, the shops, bars and restaurants in this area originate from many nationalities to provide food to suit all tastes - from the native Spanish to Italian, French, German, Chinese, Indian, Korean, Scandinavian, Argentinian, Hungarian and Mexican cuisine.

The Flamenca Beach Commercial Centre is the largest in the area with about 60 bars and restaurants and nearby are familiar supermarkets such as Lidl, Aldi and Supercor – the “Harrods” food hall of Spain. There is a large popular market every Saturday morning within 100 yards from the apartment complex.

The EU Blue Flag beaches at Playa Flamenca and La Zenia have vast expanses of golden sands and there are jet-ski’s, a banana boat and pedalo’s in the summer months, as well as the usual “bars on the beach”.

Close by is the Celtic Isle Irish entertainment centre with own swimming pool, bars and restaurant and the Orihuela Costa Resort, where there is a magnificent pool with large sunbathing terrace and loungers, extensive lawn area, tennis courts, basket ball area and gymnasium available for a small charge and pool bar and restaurant.

It is also only a 10 minute drive to the golf courses at Villamartin, Campoamor and Las Ramblas.

A car is recommended to get the best out of any area but if all you want to do is relax, take in the sun and have a meal and a drink in the evening, either within the apartment complex, or in the nearby commercial centres, it is not essential due to the numerous facilities within walking distance.


How to get there

25km from Murcia airport and 60km from Alicante airport.

Transfers from Murcia and Alicante Airports can be arranged. Passenger cars are used, maximum of 4 adults (plus driver) per car. Unless advised otherwise, we assume that a child needs a full sized seat the same as an adult. We recommend that you are covered by travel insurance (for flights, luggage in transit, airport transfers. etc). Inbound payment is made on arrival at the property (plus return if required).

A key handover is provided for those using a hire car from the airport. Unless advised otherwise, a one hour time slot will be allocated for the key handover two hours after landing, i.e. land at 14.00 pm, key handover around 16.00 pm. Directions from Alicante airport (either via AP7 motorway or N332 coast road) and Murcia airport will be provided when booking.

The fully tiled bathroom facilities are bath/shower, wash basin, toilet & bidet.
Bed linen and towels provided.
There are 2 sunloungers available for your use.
Blackout blinds to all windows.

There are some books & DVD's provided in the apartment for your use.

For winter rentals, in addition to the air conditioning unit, there are 2 halogen heaters, 2 convection heaters and winter blankets available.


Further details outdoors:
The apartment block is accessed by security doors that are linked to an internal intercom system. There are 2 lifts.
Guests/visitors can usually park directly outside the entrance doors to the apartment block, or if preferred there is ample parking within the secured complex which is accessed by remote controlled gates. If required, a remote control fob will be supplied to you on arrival.
There is a communal swimming pool as well as an 8000sq mtr garden area where shade is provided by numerous pine trees.

Swimming Pool is open from 9.am. to 9.pm. and accessed by a security disc which will be provided for your stay.

The clean/laundry fee is 50 euros and is payable in cash on arrival.
A refundable key/damage/breakage deposit of £50 is required and will be returned to you wiithin 7 days of your departure.
