The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
The Costa del Sol ( or literally, "Coast of the Sun") is a region in the south of Spain, in the province of Andalusia. It includes the city of Málaga,and the towns of Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Mijas, Marbella, San Pedro de Alcántara, and Estepona. Torremolinos / Montemar, Torremolinos area
The popular Torremolinos seafront known locally as la Carihuela, has beautiful sandy beaches and scores of restaurants and shops including a large supermarket a few minutes' walk away. It is very popular with families. If you prefer more isolated beaches you may reach them by a short car ride (10-15 min) on the west side of Benalmadena.There are lots of challenging golf courses within easy driving distance including Torrequebrada, Lauro, Guadalahorce and Parador de Malaga. Tennis, horse riding, sailing, and fishing are all available nearby.An excellent local bus service exists to help you get around.

Nearest airport is Malaga (15 minutes away) Driving time 5 minutes to Torremolinos town centre, 20 minutes to Fuengirola and Malaga, 30 minutes to Marbella. Further afield, it is about 1.5 hours to Granada and 2.5 hours to Seville.
