The Andalucia region
The Malaga province is one of the most popular destinations in Spain from the mountain ranges which protect the coast giving it an exceptional climate to the beautiful sandy beaches with the local bars and restaurants serving typical Spanish tapas.
For those wanting to travel further afield there are many exciting excursions inland to experience the culture and rich history of this area of Spain.The Alhambra Palace,Seville,Ronda and Cordoba to name but a few.
Mijas a pretty Spanish village is only a bus ride away and Fuengirola with its popular street market on Tuesdays and its natural zoo is only a few stops on the local train.
I have been visiting this area for over 20 years and still find lots of interesting places to visit.
There is so much to do in Benalmadena from Tivoli World - local theme park ,Paloma Park to see wild and not so wild animals ie rabbits hens ducks and guinea pigs running free, Aqua Park and crocodiles - not running free.!
Feeding the fishes in the beautiful Marina or going on the many boat trips or just going shopping in the many quaint little shops
Cable cars can take you to the top of the mountains for spectacular views of the coast line.
There are many golf courses a short distance away or you can just sit and relax and watch people go by in one of the local bars.

"CONFORT AND CONVENIENCE"
Spent 6 weeks (Nov/Dec) in this apartment and it quickly became home from home. Clean, comfortable and convenient to all necessaties, without the need for a car which was important. While center Benalmedena is a 25 minute walk, great train service 7 minutes walk and bus stop outside apartment block. Taxi rank outside too and very reasonably priced. 2 good supermarkets, one which does home deliveries for a minimum fee. Also plenty local shops and cafes and restaurants, all open late in the year.
Apartment itself is nicely placed at back of block avoiding any traffic noise. Separate sunroom allowed for lots of “time for me”, reading etc. Nice new bathroom, renewed compact kitchen, and fair sized lounge. Double bedroom fine, but twin room requires overhall. Camp beds not suitable for adults, mattresses duvets pillows bedding, all need renewing.
I required assistance for elderly relative and found Spanish neighbours extremely good and even gave me WiFi access in exchange for small contribution. Wonderful! Certainly will go back to Saltillo Alto.

About the beds in the 2nd bedroom - they are not camp beds but actually normal sized Spanish beds - but I agree they are slightly smaller than English beds.I will be visiting the apartment in the next few weeks with a view to replacing them.

"As good if not better than a hotel"
What struck me most about the apartment was the internal decor, having stopped in another apartment in the area you could easily tell money has been spent here to improve the stay for guests. Despite this the actual cost of renting the apartment was very good and I would recommend this to anyone who asked. The apartment was ideally located for local ammenities with having 2 supermarkets virtually on your doorstep and an excellent bakery just down the road. The train station was a 5 min walk away so ideal for getting out and about. A taxi rank just down the road always had taxis available to get down into the main town so very suitable if you have an elderly person with you who can not walk far. All in all a very relaxing holiday was had by all who stayed here and hopefully will certainly book again in the future.

"Ideal appartment in an Ideal location, with surrounding shops,bars,restaurants and only 10 mins from the beach."
Lovely 2 bedroom apartment, clean, well equipped and spacious. Looked after locally by Steve and Ray who meet you with your keys, show you around the apartment, have local knowledge and are on hand if any problems arise. 2 large supermarkets next to apartment block as well as some bars and restaurants. The pool and bar areas are nice and relaxing. There is a taxi rank outside the apartment block. Train station to Malaga airport is only 5 min walk away. If you dont know the area, best to get a taxi from the airport (25 euro) until you are orientated, but for travelling back to Malaga airport the train is ideal (less than 2 euro per person). The train is by far the cheapest and most comfortable way to travel to other nearby resorts for the day. The beach is about 10 mins walk down the hill. If you turn left from the apartment block the main town and shops are only 15 mins walk. Plenty to see and do for all ages.
