The Costa Dorada/Tarragona region
Torredembarra, in the middle of the "Costa Dorada", is an attractive and interesting village to visit, either in the peacefulness of winter, either in the dynamism of summer. From the prints of the old Roman times until the modernity of its port, Torredembarra offers several cultural and sport opportunities, a rich gastronomy, leisure and entertainment... and a nice situation and climatology.
From Torredembarra: 14 Km. Tarragona 30 Km. Reus Airport 30 Km. Route of the Cister 85 Km. Barcelona 90 Km. Ebro's Lands 275 Km. Valencia
Torredembarra is a tourist and commercial village. It is located in a nucleus of communications: roads (N-340), freeway (A-7, exit 32) and train (own station, Corridor of the Mediterranean).
Several areas of population form the village of Torredembarra. It has an extension of 857,81 ha and a stable population that already overcomes the 12.000 inhabitants. It is located 14 Km. from the Roman Tarragona and 85 Km. from the cosmopolitan and olympic Barcelona, and not very far away from the Cister route, from the thematic park Port Aventura, and from the natural park of the Delta del Ebro. It also has several golf clubs and a wide cultural, sportive and entertaining offering.
Torredembarra area
It is a village that the Romans already discovered. Torredembarra maintains the footfalls of those settlers: the remainings of the Villa del Moro and the welcoming wisdom of the mediterranean classicism that it conforms their people's personality. Torredembarra was not born like a town until the feudal times, with the primitive nucleus of "Clarà" and the later of Torredembarra, of which is still conserved part of the wall, the Castle, the Tower of the Villa, the church and the configuration of the old neighborhood. It was a farm and sailor town. The medieval wealth of the village is based on the existence of important salt mines and on a weekly market. This market still stays nowadays, every Tuesday. It is considered to be interesting to visit.
Sea: Torredembarra has always lived for and on it. Now that it has a modern sportive and fishing port, this relationship has still been intensified. The maritime facade of the village is also magic.
The boardwalk takes you from the varied commercial offering of the port to the typical maritime neighborhood. Going away a little more, we can find the protected natural areas of the "aiguamolls" and the "muntanyans", a natural place that it deserves to visit. The sea defines the local gastronomy, in which the fishing products prevail: "Romescos, asmarris, alls cremats, xatons, bulls, suquets, arrossos... "

Guestbook for Stella Mare
We just wanted to say what a wonderful time we had in Torredembarra. The apartment was lovely and was in the best position of the resort. It was so nice to be able to walk to the port or along the promenade or even into the old town, sampling the many tapas bars. We even took the train to Valencia one day, to watch the Americas Cup. We would definitely like to return next year. -Lesley and Martyn - Le Biot, France. June 2007
Apartment is great, one of the best we have ever rented in Costa Dorada. We are planning to go back someday. Everything worked really well and there is lot of room for 8. The kitchen is equipped well, what is really important for us. The yard and pool area of the apartment building is taken care really well, there´s a full time gardener and also a night guard. Also the view is great, we never got tired of watching the waves of Mediterranean. Torredembarra is ideal place for families. The location of the apartment is best in town, only 20 meters to the beach, 50 m to restaurants and 100 m to the local supermarket. And about 10 minutes drive to our favourite town Tarragona. And Barcelona is about 40 minutes away. Perfect holiday. -Johanna and Jyrki with family, Helsinki, Finland. July 2007
"The apartment is wonderfully located over looking the beach and close to the mariner. The communal pool and area is very well looked after and very clean. The apartment is built to a high standard with high quality fittings to the kitchen and bathrooms. We very much enjoyed our stay." Mark Cooke - London -UK
We really enjoyed our stay at Stella Mare, Torredembarra. The apartment is very beautiful and we had everything we needed. We really appreciated the very well maintained, private facilities and pool area. We love the surrounding area and enjoyed eating out and visiting the local places of interest. A very relaxing and enjoyable week. Thank you too for the prompt, reliable and efficient service you provided.-July 2007, Sane Booley-UK
