The surprising thing about Torre del Mar is how a coastal town of it's size has gone unnoticed for so long by all except the Spanish. This becomes even more of a mystery after you discover it and realise that a more perfect Spanish holiday resort will be hard to find. What the Spanish have known and kept to themselves for years is that Torre is the perfect combination of working seaside town and relaxing resort , neither aspect seeming to affect the other , Torre del Mar is a completely flat area which makes getting around very easy.
Despite the town and beach sitting side by side it is well spread out and gives you the feeling of the two being separate. A perfect marriage of all that is good about a busy Spanish town with all that is great about a sleepy beach resort. You can really please yourself and choose the pace to suit your every whim ! This 1st floor apartment has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, one being en suite to the master bedroom, suitable for two couples sharing or a family. The terrace has views to the sea and is ample for a table to seat four people for alfresco dining overlooking a beautiful tree lined avenue.
For those cooler winter evenings, portable gas fires are provided. For those hot months, there is a ceiling fan in the living room and free standing fans for the bedrooms.

Playa Bahia is located in the most sought after area of Torre del Mar and people have been known to search the internet using the name of the block alone. Known for always being superbly maintained and most importantly quiet - apart from the 3rd week of July - Fiesta time in Torre. Join the Spanish in this week and experience their love of partying, be prepared for some late nights and even later mornings.
All facilities are within a short walking distance , the beach is 2 minutes, the supermarket 4 minutes,restaurants and bars 4 minutes , Thursday street market 5 minutes , bus station 7 minutes , town centre 5 minutes , La Caleta with it's beautiful Marina 20 minutes. There are 2 golf courses in close vicinity, the nearest being just an 8 minute drive. Should you require more information about green fees or would like a golf buddy , my husband would be only too willing to oblige !
The swimming pool is open from the 1st June until the 30th September, there is also a small child friendly pool. A BBQ is located next to the pool with a shaded area.
The tennis court is open all year round.
The owners live just 40 minutes away and will be there on your arrival to meet you and show you to the apartment, they are always on hand should you have any problems or queries.

A non - returnable deposit of 30% is required for booking confirmation. Full payment is required 6 weeks before arrival. If booking less than 6 weeks before your arrival date full payment will be requested.

The Costa del Sol region
Torre del Mar is ideally situated should you wish to travel further afield , places of interest are , Granada and the Alhambra Palace , Ronda and it's magnificent bull ring , Marbella and the Marina , Gibraltar and the famous rock apes , Nerja and it's Balcon de Europa, Cordoba , Seville and so the list goes on.
A very good and reasonably priced bus service can transport you to Nerja, Torrox Costa, Velez - Malaga, Malaga and more.
The Torre del Mar area
The centre of Torre del Mar , which is just a walk of 5 minutes away offers every amenity that you will require - shops, restaurants, supermarkets, banks, chemists, doctors, internet etc. The busy Thursday market brings visitors from all around and is once again just a 5 minute walk.
Top class seafood restaurants line the seafront intermingled with Spanish, Chinese, Indian, Italian eateries and of course the obligatory ice cream parlours. The Spanish love their ice cream in the heat of the summer !
For children , there is plenty to keep them occupied , close by there is the Water park , Aquavelis - fun for all ages. Karting del Sol - Go karting and many activities along the seafront.

With the recently extended Malaga Airport now becoming a hub for Ryanair Airlines, flights and arrival destinations have been increased. There are also a number of other airlines which fly into Malaga, to name a few , Easyjet, Flybe, Monarch, Jet 2, BMI Baby, Thomson, British Airways.
There are a vast number of hire car companies located on site at the Airport.
The drive from the Airport to Torre del Mar is very easy , a drive of approximately 40 kms which takes on average 35 minutes. The owners will send directions to an easy meeting point on your arrival in Torre.
If you do not wish to hire a car - an airport pick - up and drop - off can be arranged for you at a cost of 60 euro each way per group.

Writing this review on the balcony enjoying the late afternoon sun. Have had a wonderful time here with my husband & 2 kids ( 4 years and 6 months ). Have never been in Torre before ,have always visited Nerja , but found this Spanish town friendly and well - Spanish!!! if you know what l mean , just what we wanted. The apartment is ideal , brilliant location for the beach , restaurants & amusements ,especially for my 4 year old .It's well equiped with everything you need to get by on for the week , clean and tidy too .The pool area is also brilliant and , as we seen on our stay , well maintained .
Finally , a big thanks to Jim and Lindsey for the airport pick - up serivice and the trouble they went to to organise car baby seats etc for us . This made a massive difference to our arrival and made it more personal too to meet the owners . Big thanks to all .Hope to meet you again soon!! Karen, Jim , Aoibheann and Shay
