The Penthouse is a 4 star British Tourist Board rated detached 4 bedroom property, fitted out to a very high standard, it sleeps 8 + cot comfortably, it has lovely furnishings making your stay luxurious and very comfortable, it also has the benefit of a flat screen TV & Sky television. An entirely safe and very pretty garden, with Barbicue and patio furniture, parking on the drive for 2 cars. It is in the pretty village of Ipplepen surounded with the traditional narrow Devon lanes for walkers, and spectacular scenery, It is very near Torquay/Totness on the edge of Dartmoor National Park an area of outstanding beauty. Ipplepen is a very traditional Devon village with Thatched roof cottages and tall hedgerows of sweet smelling flowers, a lovely church,a local store and village Post Office. 2 pubs serving good quality home cooked food and traditional hand pulled ale. It has the advantage of being near the sea, Torquay, Paignton, Totnes, Dartmouth, Blackpool Sands ( blue flag beach) all within short driving distance, offering Water Sports, Surfing, Sailing. For Golfers Daignton Golf Club is on the doorstep only 5 minuites away, The Penthouse is surrounded by numerous golf courses in the surrounding countryside.
Ipplepen is situated half way between the market town of Newton Abott & Totnes being only 10 mins drive away and has weekly markets and many quaint shops. Take a boat trip down the river Dart from Totnes to Dartmouth past Agatha Christies home, another of Devons historic towns on the edge of the river. Drive through Dartmoor and see the free roaming ponies on your doorstep. Not only a fabulous summer holiday is awaiting you, why not spend Christmas in Devon too. Ipplepen with its pretty christmas tree in the village square, where everyone congregates and sings carols on christmas eve. Christmas shopping in Exeter with the beautiful cathederal and decorations. Highly decorated Totness with all the christmas festivities going on and quaint shops and cafes, dont under estimate the sheer prettiness of Devon at christmas, it has a little piece of magic all of its own!!

The West Country / Devon region
Long sunny days beautiful summers starting as early as late April / May lasting into Ocober temperatures reaching in 2006 well into the 100 degrees. Newton Abbot a pretty weekly market town, HistoricTotness with the river meandering through,and Dartmouth on the river Dart, Torquay, Paignton, Blackpool Sands a blue flag beach all on your doorstep. The local brewery & Cider Press Centre are open for visitors, Prickly Hedgehog Farm visitors centre, Tragor Mills fantastic shopping complex and centre, Fermoys with its traditional cafe serving cream teas and housing a large garden centre, gift shops, incl. a fab butchers for those barbi's on a hot day, are all within esay accses, plus much more.
Torquay / Ipplepen Village area
Ipplepen is a very pretty traditional Devon village mixing new with old, Thatched roof cottages a Post Office and a pretty village square with traditional pubs with outside seating for those sunny days, cobbled streets run down and around Ipplepen church. Pretty walks for walkers, good golf for golfers 2 mins out of the village Daignton golf club. Yachting and Waterskiing clubs, free public launch jetty, boat storage and very reasonable mooring rates, within a very large fresh water estuary on the river Teign, 4 and a half miles from the house at Combesellers Combentiengnhead. For those of you that like a tan, fantastic beaches for sunbathing and sand castle building for the kids! welcoming friendly people. Sailing and surfing area, with boat trips daily leaving from Torquay and Dartmouth taking you down the river Dart past Agatha Christies home. Exeter with its lovely Cathederal and walks along the river are all within short distance. Torquay, with its superb shopping and lovely harbour where you can sit and have a drink, and watch the world go by as the sailing boats come in & out of the harbour, a truly get away from it all holiday.
How to get there
M5 SOUTH at junction 31, join the A38 PLYMOUTH, after roughly 3 miles, join the A380 TORQUAY, after 7 miles join the A383 NEWTON ABOTT, after 1 mile join the A381 TOTNESS & IPPLEPEN, after 2 miles passing The Hedgehog Hospital on the right, then Fermoys Garden Centre, coming up to a JET garage on the left, just after that turn right into the village (signposted Ipplepen).
Drive a 1/4 of a mile and opposite the church on the right, turn left then first right into Mayfair Road.
The house is the 4th on the right.

It has a large room with a delightful swiss log burning fire, (logs available locally) wide screen TV, Sky television, All bed linen & towels provided. The kitchen includes, 2 fridges, Dishwasher, Microwave, Washing Machine, Tumble Dryer, CD Player. The house has three toilets one being on the ground floor. There are 4 bedrooms 2 with double beds and 2 with bunk beds, 1 en-suite to Master bedroom family bathroom upstairs. Please note this is a strict green area & conservation area, there are strict rules to follow concerning rubbish. Conditions
A refundable breakages/damages deposit is required of £125 when booking the Penthouse. This will be returned after the house has been checked following your imediate departure, returned within 7 working days
