Upper Alvista is located in Livermead bay, just 180 yards from Institute beach and close to Torquay Seafront and town centre. Institute Beach can accessed down a few steps at low tide.
The property benefits from sea views from most rooms, some to Berry Head, views from hallway to harbour and has contemporary neutral décor with high quality contemporary furniture in the lounge and a hand-made Cherry kitchen.
It is situated in Livermead, close to Livermead Cliff Hotel with its luxury Orchid Restaurant overlooking Torbay and the harbour. About 10 minutes walk away is Torquay Harbour with its shopping, restaurants, cafés and nightlife. The Living Coasts attraction is on the harbour, and Babbacombe Model Village, Bygones and Kents cavern can be reached either by car or bus.
Livermead Sands, Corbyn’s Beach and Torre Abbey sands are about 5 minutes walk away, as is the medieval Torre Abbey, which has just been extensively restored. Hollicombe beach is 5 minutes’ walk west, and Preston Sands is a little further on.

The Torquay area

From here, take a pleasant stroll along the marina with the area’s trademark palm trees, or hop on a boat for a cruise across the bay or round to Dartmouth. The Living Coasts, The Princess Theatre and Pavilion shops are also located here. Torquay is rich in Victorian architecture and identity as the country’s first ‘resort’.
Torquay is host to many more attractions, including Babbacombe Model Village, Kents Cavern, Torquay Museum. Or take a trip back through time to Cockington Village where thatched roofs prevail and watch a blacksmith working in the 14th Century forge.
Those looking for a beach will not be disappointed either. Torquay is the ‘sandcastle capital of the UK’ offering the ideal mix of sand and water, according to research conducted by Bournemouth University.
