"Has great neglected potential"

The house is spacious and situated in a quiet road with good parking. It is within a 15 minute walk of Torquay sea front through Torre Abbey grounds and so seems a great place to stay. However, the h… More

Thank you for your review. We were in contact with you by email, telephone and even visited you at the property and are very disappointed that you failed to mention any of your issues to us, giving us the opportunity to respond but chose instead to post a review on trip advisor. With regard to the cleaning issues, there is a limited window in which to clean the house and the booking form clearly states that we rely on the goodwill of previous guests to leave the property in a clean and tidy condition and we apologise if you felt this wasn't the case. Turning to the garden, the decking area isn't accessed via the house and apologise if it was slippy but obviously at this time of year we wouldnt necessarily think it would be in use. As the let is very busy and popular with lots of repeat bookings, all major maintenance, decorating etc is dealt with in January when the let is quiet. With regard to the rubbish, Torbay Council only collect refuge on a fortnightly basis so unfortunately this was out of our control but there was a spare black seagull sack that could have been used for overflow rubbish. We have been running Fairdale since 2009 with hundreds of happy guests who have enjoyed Fairdale and it's surroundings, which is evident in the visitors book within the house. Penny Kay
