The West Country / Devon region

Blessed with such wonderful scenery and gentle climate, it's no surprise that South Devon has been attracting visitors for over 250 years. The contrast of river estuaries, rolling hills and lovely old towns combined with long warm summers and mild winters make South Devon the perfect year-round holiday destination.
South Devon has some of the most beautiful beaches in the country - from tiny sheltered coves to great sweeps of golden sands and long stretches of pebbles and shingle. Many of the beaches have passed tough tests to prove that they are also some of the safest and cleanest.
The Torquay / Torquay Harbour area
Torquay in Devon is often referred to as the 'Queen of the Riviera'. For centuries a popular destination for coastal holidays, Torquay was the birthplace and home of internationally- renowned crime writer Agatha Christie, and is steeped in history, from the awe-inspiring caves of Kents Cavern, to the World War II slipways at Beacon Quay. With so much culture, history, and an amazing nine beaches to choose from, Devon's Torquay really is the perfect place to relax on holiday.
The town is famed for its situation among seven green hills, from where grand Victorian villas and terraces gaze out to sea. Palm-lined promenades lead to the lively harbourside and marina, where pavement cafes and boutique shops abound, in addition to a range of top class restaurants.

Guestbook for St Christophers Holiday Home
Recommended to us by our friends, St Christophers has been excellent. The major features of the property are very good, but what makes it such a comfortable place to stay are the minor touches, which offer such a warm welcome. The basket of goodies, milk in the fridge, fruit... Torquay and the surrounding area have re-introduced the 'British Holiday' to us and we look forward to returning in the forseeable future. With the addition of a child to our family, holidays take on a new meaning! Will recommend to friends and family.
