Rutland Lodge is the perfect choice for guests that enjoy the style and sophistication of boutique hotels, but prefer the privacy and convenience that self-catering offers.
This beautiful period building has been extensively and lovingly restored and successfully marries the features and character of yester year, with all the essential conveniences of today.
The property's five elegant bedrooms benefit from en suite bathrooms and luxury fixtures and fittings; and there is a fabulous lounge with high ceiling, open fire place and plenty of comfortable seating for all.
The charming formal dining room is perfect for special occasions and provides just the ambience to encourage and inspire after dinner banter, late into the night!
Undoubtedly one of the best features of Rutland Lodge is the original conservatory which runs the entire width of the building. It makes for a magical place to have huge family breakfasts or to relax with a book and a coffee from the Jura machine at any time of day. The unusual vine that forms the conservatory ceiling brings the outside in, and lends a tropical flavour to the experience.
Guests at Rutland Lodge are treated to a quality experience, the accommodation is excellent and the location ideal for parking up and from then on wandering on foot to all the attractions and amenities downtown and in nearby Wellswood.

About this location
The English Riviera region
Home to the English Riviera, South Devon is lined by sandy beaches and fluttering palm trees - and it's still a haven for families keen to enjoy its unique microclimate. Torquay, Paignton and Brixham make up Torbay, one of the most popular areas for holiday makers in Devon, and the area also includes the coastal towns of Dawlish, Teignmouth and Starcross. Visitors can stretch their legs along some of the prettiest sections of the South West Coast Path, take afternoon tea beside any number of picturesque harbours and enjoy the party atmosphere that ensues at every summer regatta in the region.
Blue Flag beaches and a warm year-round climate have enticed visitors to indulge in Torquay for decades. Famed as the birthplace of Agatha Christie, Torquay continues to charm guests of all ages year after year. Nicknamed the 'English Riviera' by the Victorians, Torquay combines relaxed family cafes and restaurants, all-weather attractions and a lively nightlife.
Torquay's waterfront forms the town's hub, and merges the past and present as uniquely as the town itself. Visitors can admire stunning, unaltered sea views, visit the nearby family attractions or relax in the waterside bars.
Agatha Christie fans can follow in the crime author's footsteps by completing the Agatha Christie Mile, a walk incorporating Torquay landmarks relevant to her life and work.
