Bungalow | 5 bedrooms | sleeps 10
Merrifields is a super detached 5 bedroom bungalow in a very quiet and leafy residential area of Torquay but still very conveniently located in the resort being only a short distance from the bustling harbourside and Torquay's town centre with its great selection of restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. The bungalow is situated on a very large established garden plot with plenty of space for outside relaxation and play areas for children including climbing frames and a trampoline. The internal accommodation is also very spacious and comfortably arranged so that visitors will have plenty of space to relax and fully enjoy a visit to Merrifields. Two of the bedrooms have en-suite facilities and one of these also opens out on the the very attractive decking at the front of the bungalow. To the rear of the property there is also a very pleasant small conservatory area which is ideal to sit and read a favourite book or perhaps for the children to play whilst adults enjoy some leisure time in the adjacent lounge. There are some local day to day shops, a good quality restaurant and take away within a minute or so on foot and also the very popular Wellswood Village with a further selection of shops, restaurants, bistros and a popular pub is again very easily reached. It would be quite possible to leave the car whilst at Merrifields and enjoy all of the local attractions of the bay by either foot, bus or ferry. Merrifields is an ideal holiday location for families wishing to visit Torbay & South Devon.

About this location
The English Riviera region
Devon is Great Britain's third biggest county and has a wide range of landscapes. From the moors to the seaside sand dunes, from the buzzing cities to the sleepy coastal towns and villages, Devon can provide an all-round holiday experience.
The cities of Exeter and Plymouth both provide a delightful combination of rich heritage and modern excitement. All the coastal towns have lively harbours and local produce so you can have the real Devon experience.
Devon is also home to two national parks. Dartmoor in the south and Exmoor in the north both provide wonderful walks for the lovers of wildlife and the countryside.
So with two coastlines, two national parks, and two cities, there are how many reasons not to visit Devon? That's right, none!
The English Riviera town of Torquay (sometimes said to have a Mediterranean feel) is located in Tor Bay on the south Devon coastline.
Across the English Riviera there are 20 beaches. Nearly all of those that are in and around Torquay are linked by the South West Coast path. On this you can experience breath-taking views and excellent walking.
In the town there are numerous waterfront cafes and restaurants for you to sit and laze around in. Or alternatively, there are activities in abundance. From Water sports to fishing, Torquay can satisfy any persons needs.

"Not suitable for children under 8 years old"
Entrance drive is very narrow and steep with 90 degree bend at the top.On opening the front door one could smell damp. This persisted in the hall and the double bedroom on the left after entering. For a… More
We are genuinely sorry that you did not enjoy your 4 night short break at Merrifields, We have had many other families staying for a week or more who have certainly had a different view point of the experience. The owners children have lived at the property from well before their 8th birthdays so we can't really agree with the opinion on age suitability, this obviously wouldn't have helped with your opinion when advised, we do genuinely try and please all visiting clients.
