Please note, that Rowell House is a period property. We recognise that some of the features that we love for their character might make this unsuitable for some guests with restricted movement. We suggest you contact us to discuss this before booking. It is a walk up a steep hill from the harbour and therefore not suitable for those looking for a level location.

BookThe West Country / Devon region
We believe that South Devon is one of the most attractive and interesting areas in the UK. Beautiful towns, fantastic beaches and amazing rolling hills combine to make this a perfect holiday venue. You can come here to unwind and always find something to do.
Torbay is made up of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. Torquay is the most grand with it's Victorian houses, harbour and Marina. Paignton is famous for it's golden beaches and Brixham is a traditional fishing village.
Along the coast, next to Torbay, is the South Hams, made up of rolling hills and the beautiful towns of Dartmouth, Totnes and further along Salcombe.
Not far away you have great access to cities Exeter and Plymouth with entertainment and restaurants.
Not forgetting Dartmoor on your doorstep.
And this is just to start ...
The Torquay / Meadfoot area
Torquay is a fantastic town with it's Victorian grandeur combined with the modern marina. It is famous for Fawlty Towers and a lively night life. But it has breathtaking views, fantastic beaches and many small areas each having it's own unique character away from the hustle and bustle of the centre.
One of these is Meadfoot which we believe has the best of everything. Walk down to Torquay harbour or the other way to Meadfoot beach. Near to great restaurants, but in a quiet tree lined street with open views across Torquay. We hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do.

This was a very well kept house with plenty space in both the bedrooms and the living areas downstairs. I will definitely want to rebook should we decide to stay in Torquay again next year. Had everything we needed for a self-catering holiday. I don't think you could beat its' location as it is on a very quiet street in the heart of Torquay, only 5 minute walk from the main shopping area and the harbour. Many great places to see nearby. the only downside was that we weren't staying long enough to see them all. |

Rowell house is very well situated and the town is within walking distance. Beware if you are not able to walk up the hill though. Two very large bedrooms with handbasins and a small double room. The... more Response: Clearly we can't do anything about the size of the upstairs toilet. It is usable, but "tight". Your feedback is useful for other potential guests. This is a really beautiful house, a great mix of modern good quality design and classical fixtures fittings. It is at the top of a steep drive and took some doing to park on its narrow drive way but once done we were able to leave the car and walk quickly down into the Harbour area for food etc as it is very conveniently sited as well as being tucked quietly away from the hustle and bustle. It was a real treat to stay in such surroundings, very elegant and posh!!! |
