Torcross is situated at the end of a strip of land separating the Slapton Ley, a unique freshwater lake, and Start Bay. It boasts all amenities with a well-stocked village shop and post office, gift shop, local butcher and beach-side tea shops. Torcross is also home to the ‘Start Bay Inn’ which is renowned for its local fish dishes and tasty treats.

Wireless broadband internet is generally available depending on user's location to the wireless access point. A small selection of books, games and DVDs is available. The spectacular coastal road towards Kingsbridge, passing through the village of Stoke Fleming, perched on the cliffs 300ft above the sea overlooking the golden shingle of Blackpool Sands, the award-winning beach that proves very popular with visitors all year round. Strete, occupies a cliff top position with views over Start Bay, plus boasts a renowned pub and restaurant as well as a village shop. Continuing onto Slapton Sands and Torcross, where the D-Day landings rehearsals took place in 1944, the freshwater lake of Slapton Ley , a paradise for birdwatchers and nature lovers, is separated from the sea by just a shingle bank and the narrow road. Torcross offers a shop, tea rooms and great fish and chips.

Start Point Lighthouse is open to visitors, whilst East Prawle, situated on the southernmost tip of Devon, is home to a popular pub as well as rare birds, butterflies and wildlife. Hallsands, with it’s intriguing history and unspoilt cove, is a perfect base for walking, shore fishing and exploring the coastline. Beeson lies half a mile inland from the working fishing village of Beesands, where you can buy the freshest fish or enjoy another stretch of shingle beach. The pretty village of South Pool, on the Salcombe Estuary, is within easy reach of the fabulous beaches of Millbay and East Portlemouth, from where you can take a small ferry boat over to Salcombe.

KITCHEN/DINING/SITTING ROOM A large open-plan room incorporating a contemporary kitchen equipped with fitted units, custom-made worktop, four-ring halogen hob, electric oven, fridge (with freezer compartment), dishwasher, washer/dryer and microwave. Glass and stainless steel round dining table with four chairs. The sitting area is very well presented with L-shaped sofa-bed, chair, widescreen TV with Freeview, DVD player and feature wall-mounted electric fire.
BEDROOMS Two, both doubles. Master bedroom with wooden-framed double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside units and en suite shower room with shower, wash-hand basin, w.c. and heated towel rail. Strictly no smokers or dogs permitted. Where indicated on the Property details a Security Deposit is payable with, and in addition to, the balance (or full) payment of the holiday. The Properties are available for occupation no earlier than 3.00pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 10.00am at the latest on the day of departure. A completed booking form and payment for rental deposit (1/3rd), booking fee and other extras (where applicable) are required. The balance payment is due 42 days before arrival.
