Studio (First Floor, Single Room)
Gaze - your eyes will be immediately drawn to the magnificent views from the expansive window. From its raised position amongst the trees, you are rewarded with views over the village of Torcross, Slapton Ley Nature Reserve and the rolling hills that typify the Devon landscape.
Dine - the breakfast / dining bar is positioned to ensure you enjoy the view.
Relax - sit back; enjoy a book, watch a film on the flatscreen digital TV, connect to the wifi or just listen to some music. Bring along your ipod / mp3 player to fulfil your musical tastes and take advantage of the electic selection of DVDs. There is adjustable lightning to suit the mood.
Sleep - enjoy a wonderful nights sleep in a custom-made luxurious bed. Designed to maximise space and comfort, the sumptuous pocket sprung mattress with memory foam layer is irresistible! Bed linen supplied.
The bespoke kitchen is positioned on the ground floor with: microwave / grill, hobs, energy efficient slow cooker, fridge with ice box, sink, kettle, toaster, custom-made recycle bins, naturally cooling wine rack built into the wall and under-unit plinth heater (to warm your toes after a refreshing dip in the sea!).
The bathroom is equipped with: the latest digital electric power shower, large heated towel rail, w.c, hair dryer, shaver point and mirror light. Towels supplied.

Sip your morning coffee and have breakfast in the sun on the patio. This area is just as pleasant in the evening for a BBQ when you can sit and watch the sun set over the hills.
Head up to the elevated driftwood garden with a cup of tea and piece of cake. The panoramic views are simply sublime. Gaze over the turquoise waters of Start Bay, the azure waters of Slapton Ley, the golden ridge of pebble that divides the two, and the backdrop of rolling Devon hills. With all fencing and garden furniture made from locally collected driftwood, it is lovely area to sit back and relax.
Sunnyview endeavours to adopt and promote environmentally sustainable measures both inside and outside the house. The aim is to do as much as possible to operate as sustainably as possible, without compromising on providing a house fora truly fantastic holiday experience in the South Hams.

How do I make a booking?
First check the availability calendar to check for your preferred dates are free. Then either fill in the request form, email or call.
Can I book a short break?
Yes, Sunnyview is perfectly suited to short breaks. 3 night short breaks are available throughout the year.
What is the changeover day?
Weekly Lets - start on Friday.
Short Breaks - can start either Thursday, Friday, Monday or Tuesday.
How do I go about payment, make a deposit?
Once you have chosen your preferred dates, payment is requested in full to secure your booking. In some cases, a reservation can be made by providing a 30% deposit. This will include a non-refundable admin fee of £20.
Is there a security bond to be paid?
Yes. Prior to arrival, you will be asked for a refundable security bond for £100. This will not be banked, and returned upon departure, assuming all is well with the house.

We are not as agile as we used to be, is Sunnyview suitable for us?
Staying in Sunnyview is similar to staying on a boat (luxurious one), therefore space is limited. Guests must be aware of the steep stairs and one sided access to the bed. If in doubt, please call before booking.
Where can we park?
Free parking is available in the village centre, a mere 30m from the front door. Additionally, a supplied parking permit allows you to park in one of the many metered parking places in the village, if the free parking places are taken. The parking permit conveniently allows you to park at other council owned car parks across the South Hams, notably; in designated areas of Dartmouth, Kingsbridge and Totnes.
Is a BBQ provided?
In summer, there is a chimenea for guests use in the patio area. This can double as a bbq, please take care when using it. Please bring or buy logs or charcoal for your use.
Do we need to bring linen and towels?
No, clean bed linen and towels are provided. But please bring your own beach towels.
Will the house be well heated?
Yes, there is ample heating in the house. There's even a plinth heater in the kitchen to warm your toes after a refreshing swim in the sea!
Is the house well maintained?
Yes, the house is very well cleaned and maintained after each visitor. We do ask however, for all guests to leave Sunnyview in a neat and tidy state upon departure.
Can we bring a dog?
Sorry the house is not suitable for pets.
Can we smoke in the house?
No. Smoking strictly outside please.

What happens if we need to cancel?
Up until 6 weeks prior to arrival, a full refund minus the £20 non-refundable admin fee will be available. A cancellation made less than 6 weeks from arrival, a 50% refund will be available (minus admin fee). Any cancellation made less than 3 weeks from arrival will unfortunately receive no refund. However, if we manage to re-sell your cancelled week, we'll be fair and refund you (minus admin fee).

The world famous South West Coast Path is the longest national trail in the UK and passes right through the village. The South Devon coastline is undoutedly some of the finest in Britain and there are fantastic walks to be enjoyed
Slapton Ley Nature Reserve is the largest natural freshwater lake in South West England and is a haven for wildlife. It is separated from the sea by a narrow bank of shingle, and is home to many species of birds and wildlife. Some superb bird watching and nature walks are on offer
Take a history lesson; head to the memorial tank to learn of the fascinating history and signifance of the area from WW2
The fish n chips from the Start Bay Inn are infamously good, even better when you can sit on the beach with them
Head for the lighthouse at Start Point then walk the coast path round to a secluded pristine beach, Mattiscombe Sands – perfect for a picnic and seal spotting
Nestled in the heart of Slapton Village is the Tower Inn. Hidden within the lanes of close-nit houses is a fantastic pub and magical location for a delicious meal
Not so secret, but idyllic none the less, Blackpool Sands is your picture-perfect beach cove
For a pub with character and good ale, take a trip to the Pigs Nose at East Prawle; renowned for its live music on Saturday nights!
