The Brittany / Cotes-D'Armor region

The property is about 15 kilometers from the spectacular northern coast of Brittany, if you've never been there before don't miss it, it is quite spectacular. Spend the day on the golden, sandy beaches at Perros-Guirec and Tregestel to the north or visit the beautiful riverside town of Lannion. Around the fringes of Lannion you will find large supermarkets and outlet stores. Lannion itself boasts a number of superb restaurants. Explore the plentiful historic towns dotted throughout the region. Brittany is steeped in Celtic history, setting it aside from the usual French resorts, with most large towns retaining reminders of their Mediaeval past.

The mild climate of the region makes it ideal for those who prefer not to holiday in the searing heat!

Tonquedec area

Hent Meur is in a very tranquil location, surrounded by fields, but only 10mins walk from the village of Tonquedec, which has; shops, restaurants, bars and a 16th Century castle, that is well worth exploring.

Whilst you are here you should try the Breton speciality of crepes and cider, or the excellent seafood. Also 20 minutes away are the beautiful sandy beaches of the Pink Granite and Heather Coast.

Guestbook

Dear John and Perry,
Just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful holiday in Brittany. The weather was great most days - we went to the beach every day!. Your gite is beautiful and we were able to make the most of the pretty garden - the boys loved all the space to run around.
We all feel thoroughly rested but are missing France already - especially the pace of life!. Thank you too for providing the cot, stair gate and highchair for us, it made life much easier (as well as leaving a little room in the car to bring some wine home!). Anyway we hope to contact you again for another fabulous holiday,

Thanks again, Sarah and Daniel Osborne (and Edward and Isaac)

Hi John,

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. Returning from a holiday is horrible and this time it has taken me longer than ever to adjust to my daily routine back here in hectic Coventry.
We were both amazed at how beautiful and safe the sea was on the beach. We all swam out to the diving platforms, even Alex and Dan with their arm bands. They loved it.
Your cottage is beautiful and we have recommended it and shown all our photos to friends and family. It was far more spacious than we expected and having a modern and fully equipped kitchen certainly made my life a lot easier.

I'm not sure if you have been to Amoripark in Begard (10 mins by car) but we went there for the day and could fully recommend it to any of your holidaymakers who have children under perhaps 10. Elder children would enjoy the pool but the activities outside may not have been grown up enough.
Anyway, all in all it was a super holiday and topped off lovely by driving to Normandy, Omaha and Gold Beach before coming home. Alex is learning about World War II at school and is obsessed with it at the moment so we decided we'd do the long drive. It was well worth it and we spent our last night (the Saturday) in Normandy. Well worth a visit.

Thank you so much for returning our deposit so quickly too, back here in the 'real world' it was gratefully appreciated.
Take care and thanks again
D. Starkey - Coventry

Hi John & Perry,

Just a quick note to say thanks for the very fast return of the deposit. As you mentioned in your letter, it was good to meet you both at the cottage, and we would all like to say what a great holiday we had. The weather was brilliant, only one day of rain on the Sunday we met, the rest was almost continuous sunshine. We were very lucky. The cottage is wonderful. It is obvious why you both decided to make the purchase as it is in a superb location and lovely area of France.

Best Wishes Mike Stillwell and family

Hello John,

Just a quick note to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at Hent Meur.
The weather was not great, but the location and the relaxing atmosphere at Hent Meur made up for that.
We found some delightful beaches about half an hour's drive away.
We found that the nearest boulangerie was at Pluzenet about 5 km away.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hent Meur and will be recommending it to our friends. We found that the house had everyhing we needed and was lovely and clean.
Thank you so much for all your help.
With kind regards.

J. Robinson - Kent

Hi John & Perry,

Back home now and suitably rested (and fed, a la francais!). Hope you had a good trip back too. Now getting back into the swing of things.
We all had a great time in Brittany. Thank you both for being such genial hosts. We are lucky to have found such a perfect gite.
Now counting the days until August... :-) Take care.
Cheers,

Marc & Jennie - Surrey

Dear John And Perry,

Just to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at Hent Meur. The house more than lived up to our expectations.
We particularly like Brittany, but had never actually been to the Lannion area, again we were very happy with our choice. We had a quite splendid holiday.

With all good wishes,

J. Cooper-Hammond (on behalf of the family and dogs) - Dorset

Arrived home safe and sound, thanks for the tip about the wine warehouse near Calais, I think we about emptied the European Wine Lake, at least we didn't sink the ferry.
Thanks for a lovely holiday and best wishes to Clinton (the dog
