The villa is perched on a peninsula providing spectacular views in every direction - the two beautiful beaches of Tongson Bay to the east and Samrong Bay to the west, towards the Angthong National Marine Park over which spectacular sunsets are guaranteed, and a picture postcard view of Koh Phangnan island to the north.

Outside steps lead down from the villa into the tropical garden and the large swimming pool which has a non slip tiled surround furnished with teak sun loungers for your relaxation. To one side of the pool is a cool sala with teak seating one of many ‘perfect spots’ you will find around the villa.

Inside the villa the western style kitchen is centrally located for access to all the terraces and is fully equipped to include an oven, hob, coffee maker, microwave and fridge freezer.

The living area is separated from the kitchen by a breakfast bar and has glass walls on 3 sides and cool tiled floors. The room is traditionally furnished with Thai style furniture including two teak sofas and a coffee table, a Persian rug and other Thai soft furnishings. The room also has a DVD player with a library of 15 DVDs, board games, a chess computer and a selection of reading books for your indoor entertainment.

Three of the air conditioned bedrooms (two with en suite bathrooms) are located in the main living floor of the house and have polished wood floors and 4 poster beds dressed with mosquito nets. The two main bedrooms facing east and west have sliding patio doors leading on to a private terrace. The third bedroom has a south facing window overlooking the garden. The bathrooms are fully tiled and have wet shower rooms. The fourth bedroom is located at garden level off the carport area and has its own en suite bathroom.

The villa is approached via a private driveway through the landscaped gardens to a carport. Steps lead up to the main west facing terrace which is furnished with a dining table with seating for 6 persons and 2 rattan day beds.

The terrace is bordered with a lotus pond incorporating tropical water plants – a perfect place to relax at night watching the sun go down over the National Marine Park and see the twinkling lights of all the beachside dining establishments dotted along the island’s north coast.

The terrace continues around the house offering stunning views of Koh Phangnan to the north and the east terrace is furnished with relaxing patio furniture making it a perfect place for early risers to have breakfast whilst watching the sunrise.

Situated on the edge of a small security gated community, the villa offers privacy away from the big tourist crowds but is nevertheless only a short journey by car to some of the most beautiful beaches of the island which lie to the South and West of the house. Here you will find several romantic beach-side restaurants to sample during your stay.

The Surat Thani Province region

Koh Samui is a tropical paradise island. Part of the Angthong Archipelago in the southern Gulf of Thailand around 80 Km offshore from Surat Thani on the mainland. Samui was discovered by backpackers in the early 70's and ever since has grown to become a major tourist attraction in Thailand, catering to all from backpackers to 5-Star getaways.

From the waterfalls of Hin Laad and Namuang to the obscenely interesting "Grandfather and Grandmother" rocks near Lamai, Samui's natural attractions are many and diverse. Stunning white sand beaches line the coast and although the island is now a popular holiday destination, there are still many beaches you can visit that are deserted. So whether you enjoy busy beaches with lots of watersport activity or prefer relaxing on a paradise beach in tranquil surroundings, Samui has it all.

Tropical rain forests in totally pristine condition line the interior of the island. Although the roads to the interior have much improved over recent years, the best way to experience the beauty of the inland is by foot or on an Elephant Trek into the interior. There are plenty of tourist walks organised by locals and alternative ways in which to experience the stunning views provided by the island, these include: 'Canopy adventures' (a great way to experience the beauty of the island, transferring by wire between trees), Elephant Trekking, and Jeep Safari.


If you enjoy shopping for clothes or souvenirs, Samui has plenty to offer. The best location is in Chaweng where on the main street you'll find a diversity of retail outlets from street traders to well known designer shops. In fact, so westernised has the island become, there is now even a large Tescos on the island, just 5 minutes from Chaweng, selling all you need for a self catering holiday and more. You could also try the local markets for fresh produce which are incredibly cheap.

Cost of living and general expenses on Samui

The cost of living on Koh Samui is not high, the local foods are plentiful and inexpensive. By way of example, a family of four could easily eat at a restaurant for 1000 Baht (about £15) and that's including drinks! Alternatively, four adults could eat and drink at a relatively expensive restaurant and pay 4000 Baht (£60), either way, that's less than half what you would pay in the UK. Fuel and other items brought from the mainland are also cheap in comparison with Europe. If you rent a car or jeep, expect to pay around 700 - 1500 Baht to fill an empty tank with petrol. Local banks deal in all kinds of currencies and transactions and can service your every local and international banking need. There are also plenty of ATM cash dispensers around so you'll have no problem obtaining more cash!

Tongson Bay

Situated in Tongson Bay on the north eastern coastline of Koh Samui and less than 5 minutes drive to the nearest beach where there are restaurants, bars and convenience stores lining the beach road. The main resort town of Chaweng is 15 minutes drive away and only 10 minutes to the popular fisherman village.

Eating out

The Seafood is well known on Samui. In fact, there is every type of restaurant you could imagine, the variety is too vast to mention here, so no need to worry if your dietary needs will be catered for and the quality is good due to the hot competition. Once again, the main concentration for restaurants is in Chaweng, although there are plenty of restaurants all over the island, you'll be spoilt for choice. You should also try the large range of tropical fruits and a fresh coconut.


Bars, cabarets shows and discos are mainly in Chaweng and Lamai. Green Mango, Reggae Pub, Full Circle and Bauhaus are the main discotheques, some open until sunrise.

With an elevated position, yet no big hill to climb, Baan Lom Talay is easily accessible to the amenities and attractions that Koh Samui has to offer. The beautiful and popular Cheong Mon beach just 5 minutes away, the ocean-side restaurants and quaint shops of the old fisherman’s village at Bophut are just 10 minutes drive and the lively night life of Chaweng 15 minutes drive away.

"Top on the Hill !!!!"

Wir haben nun schon zum zweiten mal dieses Haus genossen. Die Lage ist einfach nicht zu toppen. Die Sonne ist vom Morgen bis zum Abend zu genießen und der Blick auf die vielen Stände einfach grandios. Dazu ein toller Pool und ein Haus mit allem was man braucht. Zwingend erforderlich ist jedoch ein fahrbarer Untersatz. Dann sind innerhalb weniger Minuten viele Strände, Restaurants, Supermärkte etc. zu erreichen. Wir haben schon viele Häuser in Thailand erleben dürfen und können zum Abschluss nur sagen Buchen und einen tollen Urlaub genießen

"Excellent place to stay"

We stayed in June for two weeks at Baan Lom Talay and it was very relaxing. The views are just stunning, the staff very helpful. The house was very clean , the house keeper Roger gave us excellent advise where to go for dinner etc. We sure will come back one day.
