The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Lot et Garonne region

Very warm climate, in the summer fields upon fields of sunflowers & fruit trees. Hills with medieval villages, famous area for prunes & foie gras. Famous vinyards & many cellars to visit.
Golf course of Tombeboeuf 5 minutes from the house. Fishing in the lake.

The Tombeboeuf / Villebramar area

There are many leisure activities to be found locally. To name but a few are:-

Golf course at Tombeboeuf; Horse riding at the equestrian centre near Pujols
Tennis is available nearby Tournon d'Agenais and at Villeneuve sur Lot
Canoeing and sailing on the River Lot is offered at several locations, including Temple sur Lot, Villeneuve, Trentels and Montayral.

Cyclists can enjoy pedalling along the banks of the River Lot

For families, Parc Walibi: a water park near Agen provides a great day out, as does the Magic Forest at Clairac, the natural caves, the Grottes de Fontirou and the Chateau Bonaguil near Fumel

Those in search of a more leisurely holiday can enjoy river trips, strolling through the unspoilt countryside and villages and the Bastides, medieval fortified towns for which the area is famous. Again to name but a few:_

Tournon d'Agenais, Monflanquin, Castelmoron sur Lot, Casseneuil, Temple sur Lot and Montaigu de Quercy are all worth visiting; the beautiful Penne d'Agenais which has spectacular views over the River Lot and enjoyable - if steep - walks through its network of narrow lanes filled with beautiful houses, artisans workshops and fine restaurants, notably L'air du Temps and the stylish 'La Maison sur La Place'

The beautiful basilica, 'Notre Dame de Peyragude', is a landmark and well worth a visit. Pujols le Haut, approximately 20 minutes away by car, is one of the 'plus beaux villages de France' and overlooks both the Lot Valley and the nearby ancient market town of Villeneuve sur Lot

Pujols is notable for its restaurants and historic centre which plays host to an excellent farmers and antiques market on Sunday mornings. The markets are a feature of the area and the farmers markets specialising in local produce can be visited every day in various towns - Villeneuve sur Lot hosts the farmers market on Tuesdays and Saturdays and also has the largest organic market outside of Paris. Villeneuve also plays host to a free summer music festival where you can enjoy concerts on the riverside and on Bastille Day, spectacular fireworks! No visit to the region is complete without sampling the local wines - the vineyards of Duras, Buzet and Cahors are within an hours drive

Very close to many beautiful towns in Dordogne area.

“Great location and facilities for a relaxing holiday” Bel Air is a lovely property in a wonderful location, the swimming pool and grounds are excellent as is the games room. The house itself is well appointed, comfortable and clean. Tombebouf has a very good bakers and butchers, various sizes of supermarket are available within 30 mins drive. The local Bastide towns are well worth a visit, particularly our personal favourite Monpazier.

“Spectacular villa and scenery” Villebramar is the perfect setting for those wishing to relax in peaceful tranquil surroundings. The villa although in the middle of nowhere is well situated for access to Bordeaux, Villeneuve and Agen. It is well equipped for both toddlers and teenagers of which we took both and Mum and Dad found time to relax and unwind too! We will definitely be holidaying there again in the future.

“Simply beautiful” This is a lovely well equipped house with TV, swimming pool and games room. The area is peaceful and typical of rural France. The sleepy village and has limited facilities but there are larger communities nearby which offer supermarket shopping. There are a number of quaint old medieval towns within easy driving distance. We had a lovely holiday and would say that it is worth going back to again.

“Beautiful tranquil location, stunning views, really well equipped comfortable house.” If you're looking to 'get away from it all' (this property has no neighbours) but be close to amenities, stay in a really well equipped comfortable house with it's own pool, in a large garden with stunning views, then this is the place for you. Even our two teenagers (17 & 14) were happy without all the trappings of modern suburban life because as well as the large swimming pool with sun loungers, there was a table tennis table, pool table, bikes and a flat screen TV with DVD player for a nightly film screening. A truly relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings - what more could you ask for?
