This marvelous villa, will provide a wonderful family holiday, in a fabulous country setting, just 5 or 6 minutes drive, from one of the famous white villages of Andalucia, and only 40 minutes drive from Marbella, and the beaches of the Costa del Sol. The beautiful town of Ronda, is a similar distance away.

This lovely holiday home is situated in the heart of the Sierra de Las Nieves National Park, which offers many pursuits, to include magnificent walks in the mountains and valleys, horse and pony riding, mountain biking, nature photography and ornithology, to name but a few. There are many places to visit, to keep any member of the family occupied, and all no more than an hour away, and many much closer.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region

The Costa del Sol has been considered an international tourist destination since the early fifties of the past century. Nowadays, we are proud to say that modern infrastructures and the best climate in Southern Europe put the province of Málaga in first place on the Spanish Peninsula, in terms of numbers of visitors.

In addition to the 161 kilometers of sandy, award-winning beaches and safe bathing, the Costa del Sol offers the best shopping, dining and nightlife, without even mentioning the many famous, and affordable golf courses. Just inland from the coast, everything starts to wind down, and that's where the real Spain and Andalucia starts. The scenery is magnificent, the people are the friendliest, the cuisine is excellent, and the pace of life is mañana, mañana.

Tolox area

Tolox has a population of around 2,000 that swells during the months,from May to October, when the spa opens for business, and visitors, from all over Spain, come to take the much celebrated and famous spa waters. As much as history can tell us, the village first appeared in the 10th century as part of the Moorish kingdom of Soleiman.

As you drive into the village on the new road, the original village is to the right, with the more modern side of the village to the left. Except for the few modern streets, the others all share the same characteristic. Narrowness.
If you are able to drive your vehicle in the odd street, you do so with only inches to spare. Remember these streets were built hundreds of years ago before vehicles were even thought of, and donkeys or asses were the only form of transport. Even now you will often see the occasional donkey or mule, being ridden or led down past local pensioners sitting in the sun (or out of it) idly letting the world slip by.

Obviously, the 20th century has had an effect, and slowly facilities are appearing and improving, that local people would not have thought even possible, 20 or 30 years ago. There is an excellent selection of local shops and small supermarkets, bars and cafeterias/restaurants.

Tradition is still a major part of life in Tolox, evident by the various festivals, fiestas, and carnivals held throughout the year. These are times when tranquility hides its head for a few days more or less, and music, dancing and enjoyment are the order of the day. The main Tolox Feria is during the month of August and lasts for a week, although throughout the year there are regular events for everyone to enjoy.

Tolox is a famous Spa village in the heart of the Sierra Nieves, (Mountains of Snow), so-named because the peaks are often covered in snow during the winter months, although down below in the village during the same months, the temperature may be as high as 22 degrees, even in December and January, when it is mostly sunny.

How to get there

Most Budget Airlines fly into Málaga "Pablo Picasso" International Airport. They include Monarch, EasyJet and Ryan Air, but there are many more.

From Málaga airport it is very easy to get to Tolox, and an enjoyable scenic drive, through the Guadalorce Valley and into the Sierra de Nieves. Full route details and other information will be sent out to you, when you place your booking.

Villa Maravillosa is the perfect self-catering holiday home, for holidaymakers looking for high quality accommodation.

In addition to being well furnished, and presented, the villa is very spacious, well decorated, and immaculately presented throughout. The kitchen is fully fitted, with top of the range appliances and programmed air-conditioning is standard.

The private pool is safe for supervised children, and is adjacent to a large BBQ and sunbathing area. The gardens are well landscaped, and there is a good-sized lawn, ideal for children's games.

At the front of the house is a lovely, sunny terrace which is ideal for dining and entertaining.

Villa Maravillosa is suitable for families with well behaved children, couples or mature groups. It is not available to groups of teenagers or 20 somethings.

An English-speaking representative is on hand to meet and greet you, and to answer any questions. You will have his 24 telephone number for emergencies, although we are sure there will not be any. The same representative will also be there to see you off on your return journey

A welcome grocery and drink pack is available at cost price.

Please note, this is a No Smoking Villa and there is strictly no smoking in the house, although if there is a smoker in the party, we have no objection to smoking outside only.

All bed-linen and towels, are supplied, but these are for use inside the house only. You will of course need to bring your own beach towels for use around the pool.

The cost of linen washing, weekly house cleaning, garden and pool maintenance and cleaning is fully included.

Refundable breakages deposit of £300 required on arrival, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).

Conditions

Minimum booking is 1 week (7 nights), and a discount of 10% is available for additional weeks.

A 25% deposit of the rental amount is required to secure a booking and the balance is payable 6 weeks before your arrival.

Preferred payment is in Stirling into our British account, but Euros are acceptable also by bank transfer.

A 10% discount is available for all weeks after the first week.

Electric and gas bottles are included, but logs are not, although they are only necessary in the winter. We have a good and competitive log supplier, who only sells the best olive wood, in large bags.
