The province has 260 kilometres of coast and 138 kilometres of beaches: coves, inlets, sandbanks of several kilometres.
There are beaches with history as that of Trafalgar, where the famous battle was held, and beaches of movies like "La Caleta" in Cádiz, where scenes of 007 films were recorded. There are beaches with a special colour as those of Tarifa, with the fly-surf and his comets, ideal for the practice of the windsurfing; equally the underwater fishing in the transparent waters of his numerous beaches:
Bolonia, and Valdevaqueros between others. In total, 83 different beaches. very interesting the cliffs of the Caños de Mecca (Barbate) and Conil's coves.
In some we meet natural monuments as the dunes of the beach of Bolonia or the corrals of fishing in Rota. In Cadiz it is very frequent the sea and the mountain, being together with landscapes of pinegroves, forests and marshes. Punta Candor en Rota and the beach of San Fernando's Castle,
they are very natural beaches, where you may enjoy wonderful sunsets.;
Many of them has been distinguished with European blue flag award for clean beaches and water.
Besides the beaches you may also enjoy the interior of the province with the the region of the Sierra de Cadiz White Villages that is connected to the Bay area , the Costa del Sol on the A-382 and A-Sevilla by 473.
It enjoys a mild climate with hot summers and mild winters, however in the Sierra de Grazalema (Biosphere Reserve) there is a microclimate that is characterized by its high rate of rainfall, the largest in Spain.
His white villages,in the mountain, urban planning and valuable archaeological Andalusí remainings, are a real alternative to the coast with the guarantee to enjoy nature. Therefore, it is one of the favorite destinations for lovers of rural tourism and it´s wide range of active tourism, with two natural protected areas (Grazalema and Acorns),
The Jerez de la Frontera / Centro historico area
Jerez, is a wonderful midtown , where you will live the genuine Andalusian lifestyle, and traditions.
Although it history comes at least from Romans, Moorish times, with 11th century Alcazar and ancient walls, the city flourished at the beginning of the 19th century, when English entrepreneurs got to the city, and together with local families promoted the wine and brandy industry, creating the Sherry brand, and exporting them to Great Britain first and worldwide latter.
For two centuries an English elegant aristocracy class influenced Jerez society, and city architecture, with its palaces and Winery buildings, ( Bodegas). The main ones you may visit are Gonzalez Byass, Harveys, Real Tesoro, Lustau, etc., that are monuments itself, besides you like wine or not.
Some of them offer horse exhibitions, Jerez is also famous for the Andalucian Horses, that you may also see in the country, las yeguadas.., or "dancing" en la Real Escuela Andaluza Equestre.
Jerez is full of cafes, tabancos ( between bars and pubs ) the waiters are friendly and helpful, the town is welcoming everywhere you go.
Another artistic activity hat you will enjoy like in any other part of Spain is the Flamenco music and dancing.
The Centro Andaluz de Flamenco receive many foreing people , especially Japanese , coming to learn and enjoy this ancient , attractive and beautiful art.
Special feasts, like Easter and Feria in May are really worthy to be seen or even better lived, you will not forget such events once you have lived them..
Golf courses (the nearest one is a 10 mins drive), the Grand Prix Circuit are another attraction, you may enjoy
Jerez has many small and large squares together with tight streets, where to walk, relaxed, and feel the leisurely way of life of a small town in the middle of different cultures mixed during long time.
