The East Anglia region
Beautiful costal walks along promenades, cliff tops or vast expanses of sandy beaches, this superb birdwatching location with its numerous stately homes and quaint interesting market towns are but a few of the attractions to this special part of North Norfolk. There's Norwich with its amazing Cathedral and King's Lynn Town both steeped in history.
For good old fashioned seaside ambience take the Steam Train from Holt and chugg majestically along Norfolks famous 'Poppy Line' to Sheringham, or take a boat trip from Blakeney to see the seals, or you could spend a day messing around on the water on one of the Norfolk Broads.
The Fakenham / Toftrees area
Fakenham is a Market Town that offers something for everyone. There's a nine hole golf course, a driving range, a sports centre with tennis and squash courts and indoor bowling, a cinema, tenpin bowling alley and indoor childrens play centre.
The weekly farmers and bric a brac market and the local auctions take place on a Thurdsay in the town centre. Sculthorpe Owl and Nature reserve and Pensthorpe Wildlike Park, famous for BBC's Nature Watch flank the town on either side. If its action you are looking for then look no further than Fakenhams' own National Hunt Race Course. If its history and culture Castle Acre Ruins, if its Arts and Crafts Sandringham Fair, and for fun and frivolity visit Norfolk around Carnival time when Wells, Cromer and Sheringham show their true colours.

A beautiful barn conversion with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Loved the games room and swimming pool. Pool was a good temperature for our 4mth old baby. Wish we had seen the tea, coffee & milk the owner kindly provided as we were gasping til we did a quick shop! Doh! Will definitely be keeping the details for future reference.

"Great accomodation in a lovely location"
We had a really good family weekend. The barn was great accommodation, very cosy and functional. It was great having 2 bathrooms. The best part was the indoor heated pool. It was wonderfully warm and the children had hours of fun. The location was great, a short drive from Wells-next-the-sea where we enjoyed the beach even in January.

"Excellent Property - Facilities First Class"
We stayed here first week of School holidays and accomodation was excellent. Our party had 3 adults, 2 children (11 & 9) and our dog. The barn was very spacious and accomodated everyone with ease. Everything was provided bar food and drink which was a nice touch. The pool and games room were also of a equally high standard although the weather was so nice we didn't use the pool as much as we had anticipated. The area itself was lovely also and would reccomend the beach at Wells (about 25 minutes away) if you get the weather.

"The perfect summer getaway for the whole family"
We had a wonderful relaxing holiday at East Barn over the summer. The kids were in the indoor pool every day - sometimes twice a day, and also enjoyed making use of the pool table and the table tennis in the games room. The set up in the cottage was perfect for our family of 6. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you would need for self catering. The downstairs shower and loo was very handy for showering off the kids after the beach and the pool. WiFi access and Sky TV were also a great plus as the kids got their daily Marvel heroes and disney channel fixes whilst the adults could enjoy a quiet read by the pool. There was lots to do near Toftrees as well. We had a great day out at Pensthorpe which now has an outdoor adventure play area - only 15 mins from the cottage. Lots of fun in the sand on Wells beach and a lovely visit to Fakenham for market day, a visit to Langham Glass where the kids got a chance to blow their own glass balls followed by a trip to the cinema. All in all, the best holiday we've had in years and we're looking forward to coming back!

"Great fun for all the family"
We stayed over the xmas holiday and had great fun in the games room playing table tennis, table football, snooker and pool. The swimming pool was a nice temperature to swim and muck around in. East Barn itself was cosy and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped although small. However we did manage to cook a Christmas meal for nine people in it. There were a couple of horses in the adjacent field to the property and our daughter thoroughly enjoyed stroking them. The Barn was dog friendly which we appreciated and although we had no garden of our own there was an area of grass next to the properties that she could go out on to in the morning. All in all a great place to stay for all the family.

"Lovely barn and location"
The barn is very well laid out with everything you could possible need for your holiday. We spent the weekend here with children from 4 years to 18 years, the swimming pool was lovely and warm which was great as it was snowing outside and we made good use of the games room. We can't wait to go back and have recommended it to others.

"Chill out central!"
An excellent experience from start to finish - right from booking the booking the holiday to refund of deposit! I approached Andrew on a Saturday as it was a last minute decision. Within a couple of hours, we had the transaction sorted out and I had an email with directions and what to expect when we got there! Everything was as described on getting there and the place was all that we could ask for: quiet, relaxing, lovely interiors and amazing facilities! The grounds and facilities were also well maintained and they were also kind enough to place a few staples (milk, coffee powder, etc) to get us started. On getting back, the deposit was swiftly refunded as well. In short, we would definitely go back again!

"Did not want to leave!!"
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay - the barn was really lovely, warm and welcoming. There was everything we needed. We used the pool every day. Brilliantly located for travelling the area - and we went to Kings Lynn to see the panto which was excellent. We will definitely be back.

"Lovely house but needs more cleaning"
Very nice building but dog hairs everywhere, crockery cracked and chipped and some plates dirty. Kitchen would be adequate in summer when eating out but over xmas week was not enough worktop space & definitely needed a bigger fridge. The freezer was in games room but was only the size of under counter fridge and certainly not sufficient if all cottages booked. There were only 2 other cottages occupied whilst we were there but couldnt freeze half of what we needed to and when the other people left the cottage they left our frozen food on TOP of freezer !! 2 vacuum cleaners, both totally full of dirt and dog hairs even in bath. Non slip bath mat was brown slime underneath, ugh. More attention to cleaning needed definitely. No full length hanging space in twin bedroom. Sockets in main bedroom blocked by dresser and no full length mirror in whole property. Not up to our normal requirements as go away as a family almost every xmas. Could have been worse yes but could have been much better with more effort and thought. Lastly cannot park by property to unload or load, acess via VERY slippery flagstones approx 30 yards to car park. Very dangerous when wet and sign hidden by gatepost. Access lighting also bad.
