House | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 11
The Lookout is a luxury self catering beach house overlooking the beach of Praia da Rocha offering the perfect beach holiday destination with incredible views, great facilities and lots to do. Ideal for couples or families, a holiday, sabbatical, somewhere to get away from it all, write a book or recharge the batteries.
The house has wonderful entertaining areas but also provides privacy so that everyone has enough space. The views are simply stunning. The house has three large en-suite bedrooms and a fourth family room with mezzanine floor and separate bathroom. Watch humpback whales from the deck from June to October, snorkle with whale sharks and dolphins year round and dive the world famous Manta Reef from Tofo. Alternatively relax on the miles of empty beaches, go game fishing or experience the warmth of the people and beautiful colonial setting of the sleepy town of Inhambane with its colourful market.
Whilst the Indian ocean provides exciting diving, surfing and fishing, the bay of Inhambane is tranquil and serene dotted with islands and sand bars at low tide. Take a traditional dhow cruise and look for pansy shells on pansy Island.
The beaches at the lookout have everything: on the North bay-side is a calm beautiful swimming beach whilst the south beach is fun and adventurous with great surfing but also more private and secluded. The dunes around the house provide a stunning setting and endless fun for children in a truly unique environment.
The Lookout is fully equipped for a luxury self-catering holiday and is serviced daily by two dedicated staff members so there is nothing to do but to sit back and enjoy yourself!

The Inhambane region
The city of Inhambane is in reality a charming, sleepy port town, still retaining the old colonial Portuguese character but with a distinctly Mozambican flavour. Here the central market is still a genuine market with only a little focus on tourists and more on the business of trading the locally produced fruit and vegetables along with fish and prawns.
The town of Tofo, 18kms to the east, is directly on the beach and boasts an array of dive and sea activity operations along with a small market and numerous beach bars and cafes. Despite being the launch point for world class diving, trips to snorkle with dolphins and whale sharks and game fishing boats, the town remains very low key and quiet. Between the two on the north point of the peninsular is Barra, a beautiful beach with numerous lodges, restaurants and bars dotted long its expanse of sand and palm trees.
The Praia da Rocha beach estate is centred upon a beautiful bay offering protected swimming or body surfing further round the bay.
The north beach extends for 6 empty kilometres before reaching a point. The rock itself boasts a secluded beach, a cave and endless opportunities to explore, especially at low tide. The south beach extends for another 6 undisturbed stunning kilometres.
