Home description

The Castle of Todi is one of the oldest, most beautiful, and well maintained structures of the whole area. The Castle was built around the beginning of the year 1000 as was originally a warning tower and military garrison. The Castle of Todi offers views of 360°, overlooking the rolling hills of the Umbrian countryside in front of Todi (about 3 km) and the river of Tevere and it's valley. At the view of it's strong but harmonic structure one is immediately captivated. In the Castle of Todi once lived the major captain of the Renaissance, Bartolomeo d'Alviano, born in 1455 in the homonym fortress which lies just a few km from Todi.

The Umbria region

Is one of the smallest Italian regions which nevertheless, is well known for its timeless charm and rates amongst the first places in the world for quality of life. It is Umbria, the green heart of Italy, set centre of our peninsula, well known for its great food and drink, arts and crafts that have stood the test of time, which have flourished again in the many local events which enhance these flavors and ancient skills. The wonders of Saint Francesco in the face of Umbrian’s ever-changing beauty, its variety of environmental frameworks and traditions have remained unchanged, these to this day still seizes the attention of the tourist.

Water is the main characteristic of the region. Crossing its lands is all directions and surrounding the numerous flowing rivers and streams, the gracious lake of Piediluco which creates space between hills covered with oaks, and where the fascinating Niagara Falls plunges into the roaring Valnerina, are the renowned spas like San Gemini and Nocera Umbra. Lake Trasimeno, has been the centre of attention for celebrated painters and writers for the particularity of its habitat, and its breathtaking scenery.
