About the home

Both La Cantina and I Cipressi are completely self contained apartments overlooking the large 12 X6 metre swimming pool and extensive gardens. Each apartment has been carefully restored to retain such original features as beams, beautiful stone arches and terracotta floors. They have private outdoor seating and eating areas. The apartments are fully equipped for self catering and have satellite TV and music systems. La Cantina has a bathroom with bath and shower and I Cipressi a bathroom with a shower.Barbecue facilities are available.

The two apartments have been tastefully furnished. Both are completely private and yet have easy access to the pool area. The English owners speak Italian, live nearby and are able to offer their local knowledge for sightseeing, restaurants etc. They can also book restaurants, local tours etc.

Further details outdoors:
The large swimming pool is open for April ro October. Table tennis is available as well as badminton. Sant 'Orsola is situated very lose to a number of good restaurants and there are three bars in the local village if Schiavo ( walking distance)ome of which offers excellent takeaway pizzas. The cultural centres of Assisi, Perugia, Todi and Orvieto are all within a short drive.

Conditions

A 30 per cent deposit is required to secure a booking with full payment due six weeks before arrival. No pets allowed. Please note these are one bedroomed apartments. The bedrooms have a king size bed, which can be made into twin beds.
The living area of La Cantina has a sofa bed and a single bed is also available .but the apartments are better suited for couples or couples with one teenager or two small children.

The Umbria region

Umbria experiences beautiful warm and sunny weather from April through to October, August is the hottest month. A holiday staying at La Cantina or I Cipressi offers an opportunity to visit many of Umbria's breathtaking medieval cities. The Umbrian capital of Perugia is a short twenty minute drive away as is Assisi and the spectacular hilltop town of Todi. Also close by is beautiful Lago Trasimeno where one can catch a ferry for a tour around the lake and its islands. The lake also has a number of sandy beaches.

The Todi / Marsciano area

There are many good restaurants in the Marsciano area. During the summer the local villages and towns stage numerous food sagras where it is possible to join the locald on a warm evening eating in piazzas and sampling local recipes.

Fly to Rome Ciampino or Rome Fumicino. From April 2008 it will be possible to fly with Ryanair from London Stansted to Perugia on Saturdays. Ryanair already fly to Perugia on Wednesday, Fridays and Sundays. Perugia is just a twenty minute drive from Sant'Orsola and forty five minutes from Todi.Ryanair also fly to Rome Ciampino as do Easyjet. Other airports within driving distance are Ancona (2 hours) Forli ( 3 hours) and Florence (3 hours).

From Rome follow signs to Firenze. Take the Ai Autostrada as far as Orte and then exit and take the E45 SS3bis signposted Cessena and Perugia. Exit at Marsciano/Collepepe and then take the first unmade road on the right, signposted to Il Magnifico. Follow this road for 2.7 kilometres. Sant Orsola is a large yellow house on the right hand side of the road surrounded by trees.
