In Domus Picta beautiful romantic apartment, the restored stone mouldings from the original construction, as well as the remaining traces of the murals can be clearly found, The original materials, such as the pavements and beams have been recovered and combine harmoniously with furnishings made skilfully by local artisans.

The apartment is composed of a cosy entrance, a large and panoramic living room with kitchenette and a sofa bed with two separate places, a double bedroom and a bathroom where a round wall niche adorned in white mosaic tiles contains a relaxing shower. The Umbria region

By car, you can take advantage of the central position of Todi over Umbria's territory. The most beautiful artistic cities are all easily accessible: Perugia, with Umbria's splendid National Gallery is at 35 kilometers; Orvieto, with the magnificent “Duomo” containing the “Giudizio Universale” of Luca Signorelli is at about the same distance; Assisi, homeland of San Francesco, with the impressive Monte Subasio, is at only 40 kilometers; Spoleto, Foligno and Bevagna, each one offering plenty of beauty and authenticity, are all reachable within 30-50 kilometers from the houses.

For those who are prepared to travel farther, Rome is at 120 kilometers and can be reached in one hour and a half, by car as well as directly by train or bus. Firenze, Siena and Ravenna are slightly farther but each of them could be visited in one day.

Torre Bertona overlooks the splendid view of Todi, which is found at only three kilometers away on the hill just in front.

Todi is an authentic and fascinating town that rightly benefits from a great fame as a touristic landmark, interesting to explore in its meandering underground of the Roman period as well as because of the elegant grace of its steep medieval roads. Todi offers a vivacious cultural life that shows through numerous activities over the course of the year, not only because of the importance of its well preserved monuments but also due to its reputation at the international level as one of the most liveable towns in the world.

Its central location makes Todi a particularly advantageous starting point for those who are interested in artistic towns as well as the gastronomy and viniculture of Umbria and more generally of central Italy.

Visiting Todi is a very enjoyable experience, either during the morning hours when the square reverberates with the sound of community life, or in the evening when the town reveals again the austere fascination of its thousand years old history. In addition, the territory is rich in fascinating sites dating from the Roman as well as the paleochristian periods. Within few kilometers, it is possible to visit excavation digs in the city of Carsulae, the catacombs of Massa Martana and several pretty abbeys (often built on Roman remains) like those of “Santa Maria in Pantano”, “Santi Fidenzio e Terenzio”, “Santa Maria di Viepri” and “San Faustino”.
