La Garçonnière is a south facing, one bedroomed relaxing get away, nestled, in the heart of the dreamy village of Montagrier.

Serene Montagrier village is situated in the heart of the Périgord Vert, The Dordogne, is itself subdivided into four main regions the Périgord Noir, Blanc, Vert and Rouge, the colours corespond to various traits, all are worthy of visit, their geography and natural resources make them one of the easiest to explore and yet untouched regions of Europe. Enjoy the climate weather, the temperature is almost microclimate with mild winters and long warm summers. The area is noted for exceptional traditional cuisine; truffles are found around the area and whatever your views of the local fois gras, none dispute the quality, nor price of the wines, the amber Monbazillac is a particular favourite and found in the photographs.

Tocane Saint-Apre

The village of Montagrier is only 2kms is from the market village of Tocane Saint Apre, here you will try the local restaurants and pizza shop. It's clear to see why the patisserie makes for a particularly appetising visit.

Moments away, when you feel more adventurous, you can go fishing or horse riding and hack away around the rolling countryside. The water mill, and tourist information office neighbours the communal camp site which takes full advantage of the river Dronne, and you shall relax after a safe refreshing swim in the café, after taking a rest on the beach, and using the showers, and possibly after a game of tennis, also offered in the grounds, An excellent service of canoe and kayak hire, and anybody who has yet to experience the Dordogne by river will be enchanted by the wildlife and the tranquility that you find here.

When you need daily supplies, the local shop offers everything you will need and on Mondays, Tocane Saint Apre hosts a local market, here you can speak with the friendly locals as they show you their locally grown produce, chose from fishmongers, butchers, bakers and French wine and cheeses.

"Great little get away; was cheaper than hotel and more homely!"
