To see more photos please visit http://www.holidaylettings.co.uk/41072 The Central Albania regionCentral Albania is very rich in nature landscape, mountains, beach resorts, low hills, lakes and rivers. It enjoys a mediterranean climate on the western part on the Adriatic seaside but mountains dominate the eastern part. Humans have chosen to build life here more then 2800 years ago (foundation of Epidamnus, todays Durres). Thanks to its geography it has been a place of economical interest through milleniums. Easy path to the Balkan Peninsula and bridge to the Apenninic Peninsula, Central Albania hosts many archeological and historical sites (Durres, Kruja, Lezha, Tirana). Do not miss visiting the Castle of Kruja and its museums dedicated to Skanderbeg, the Albanian National Hero, the charming Ethnographical Museum and the Flea Market. Another place of interest can be Durres with its hills and beautiful Adriatic Bay. Centuries have left here a lot of signs as the beautiful Roman Amphitheatre but nature offers a lot of attractions as well. It's always worth a dive in the sea (April - October) and if you like fish let us bring you to some of those delicious restaurants of Durres. And last but not least Tirana, the capital is worth a couple of days visit. It is one of the most vibrant towns in Balcanic Europe with its bars&restaurants, museums, theatres and cinemas. Tirana / Tirana Centre areaTirana is the capital of Albania. In less then 15 years the population of the area has grown 3 times and it is now a town of more then a million habitants. It is crazy but charming. People are genuinly hospitable and funny. While this is the capital of one of the poorest European countries this is the kingdom of Mercedes Benz. You will understand what we mean after you visit us here. The National Museum is a must for those who want to understand history and today situation. They have recently added a pavillon dedicated to communist era. It is shocking and emotional at the same time. It will help you understand how lucky you have been not having been forced to live in the kind of situation shown there. Tirana is very rich in nightlife and culture as well. A lot of communist heritage but not only. Theatres and opera shows are not rare and so it is for art galleries as well. It is always worth a lift trip on the Dajti Mountain, simbol of Tirana and Natural Park. Beautiful view, nice restaurants, great food! The countryside is a destination for Tirana families and weekend piqniques. Petrela Castle is another place to visit for the view, for its history and for the nice Tirana traditional restaurant. How to get thereIt is not very difficult to get to Albania, nevertheless low cost big companies (Easyjet etc) are still to come in the country. A few low cost companies are experimenting Italian destinations and that's the only low cost option for now... It is much cheaper to take a ferry boat in Ancona or Bari (Italy) and land to Durres (Western Central Albania - Adriatic Cost)... If you'll need to rent a car go to albaniantrip.com and they will provide you with relatively cheap different kind of cars (4WD is the right car to travel in most of the country)... You will anyway find the great car renters as anywhere else in Europe (sixty, europcar etc)...

Facilities
Further details indoors: Further detailsWe have to say the truth! In Albania, Tirana doesn't make an exception we suffer power cuts as the country is working on renewing it's energy supply system. That can happen in our place too. For a couple of hours sometimes and for almost each day in the last couple of months. We have at least provided battery lamps for our studios so you do not risk to remain in the dark. ConditionsPlease tell us before in case you will have your pet with you. In that case we will provide you with anything you'll need to make his stay as more comfortable as possible. In this case we will have to charge you a little amount of extra money.
