The West Country region

North Cornwall has many places of interest - King Arthur's Castle at Tintagel, beaches at Widemouth Bay, Crackington Haven, Bossiney and Trebarwith Strand and Port Isaac the fishing village where Doc Martin was filmed. Beautiful Daymer Bay, Rock and Padstow with Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant is a little further along the coast.

The location is ideal for exploring the Cornish coast where you can walk the coastal path. Sandy beaches are nearby at Crackington Haven and Bossiney. Legendary Tintagel is a short drive as is Bude with its beaches, shops and golf course. Eden Project also nearby.

Tintagel

Three Inns, three Rivers, three Churches, and a most popular harbour. Boscastle is one of the most picturesque and charming villages in Cornwall, with excellent facilities, historic harbour, parking, shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants, stunning scenery and breathtaking views.

Coastline & valley walks from your doorstep, great food & drink from all three inns, brilliant local beaches (Bossiney, Trebarwith Strand & Crackington Haven all very near), Boscastle is the perfect place to relax and Linhay will make it feel like a home from home.

"A welcoming, relaxing break in a quirky cottage in a beautiful location."

"We enjoyed a glorious weekend in Boscastle over the May Day bank holiday.
The cottage is charming, curious and quirky with unusually shaped rooms, exposed beams and many of the original 1700's period features, which the owner has gone to lengths to research and inform about.
The door from hallway to livingroom and kitchen is reminiscent of the Hobbit hole door in The lord of the rings and we had to duck each time going through. The cottage was clean, light and made ready for guests.
The whole village is friendly and we got chatting to a few of the locals the following day on a walk down through the harbour and up to the coastal watch tower on the cliffs overlooking the sea. We went on two long walks, one the coast followed by Cornish cream tea at the excellent Harbour Light tearoom and the other through the woods to the 900 year old Minster church with the wildflower cemetary. This was followed by an excellent late lunch Sunday roast at the Manor House restaurant (good value too at £6.95).
Back in the cottage in the evening we lit the wood burner to take the chill off the evening with a glass of wine and watched a movie via the wireless wifi.
Linhay and Bocastle are highly recommended for those looking to get away to some beautiful, peaceful countryside to relax, walk, enjoy the scenery and also explore some of this enchanting part of Britain."

"Gorgeous character cottage in one of Cornwall's prettiest villages"

If you like cottages with character then look no further. Vaulted ceilings in living room area, slate floors, low beamed ceilings in bedrooms and hobbit-sized doorways give this old but well renovated property bags of character. It is situated at the top end of a steep, narrow hill which leads all the way down to the village centre and harbour area. Car parking is on this narrow road and spaces are limited, but we had no problems finding places to park during our stay. The Napoleon Inn a few doors up the hill is very friendly and does good food and there are other pubs & restaurants in Boscastle.
The cottage was very well presented and clean and the owner has supplied some interesting information about the history of the property as well as useful local information. I cannot think of anything that we were dissatisfied with. I thoroughly recommend this property as a good base for exploring the North coast of Cornwall. Just remember to duck through the doorways!
