The Old Workshop is located three miles from Boscastle, Tintagel and Camelford offering you a great central location to discover the beauties of the North Cornish coast. The stunning beach at Trebarwith Strand, three miles away, is just one example of what you might find along this dramatic stretch of coastline.

The South West Coast Path is a stone's throw away with some of the most challenging walks one might find on a National Path but with that comes breathtaking scenery and the occasional but perfectly placed pub!

Or if cycling takes your fancy you could discover the beauty of the Camel estury by following the popular Camel Trail.

Padstow, Rock and Port Isaac are a mere 20 minute drive with the tranquil estuaries of Fowey and Falmouth on the South Coast reached in under an hour, as is the Eden Project.

There is private decking at the rear of the property with table and chairs for that summertime Pimms or winter-warming hot chocolate as you watch the sun set behind the beautiful Cornish hills. Or perhaps wait awhile and star-gaze this spectacular and seemingly endless sky.

You also have use of a small area of lawn by the copse just outside the property and free use of our 5 acre, young woodland (accessed through our paddocks), should you fancy an evening stroll.

There is ample parking which is shared with the owners who live next door in the Farmhouse. We're here if you have any queries during your stay but will always respect your privacy

The West Country region

The Old Workshop stands in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty high up, overlooking the spectacular North Cornwall coastline with Tintagel and Boscastle nestled below.

The beautiful and popular surfing beaches of Polzeath, Trebarwith Strand, Bossiney and Widemouth are only a stone's throw away.

Camelford is the gateway to the rugged and mythical Bodmin Moor, where the panorama of big skies are amazingly captivating. A great place to walk with many fascinating prehistoric remains to be seen, as Cornwall is steeped in history. This land is adorned with Bronze age standing stones, burial chambers and Celtic crosses.

Padstow is the finishing point of the Camel Trail which links with Wadebridge, Bodmin and is a must for cyclists, walkers and nature lovers. Port Isaac is an unspoilt pretty fishing village and harbour made famous by 'Doc Martin' and the sea-shanty singers Fisherman's Friends.

The National Trust property and garden at Lanhydrock House is only a thirty minute drive and the internationaly famous Eden Project only fifty minutes and well worth the visit.

This is to name but a few of the fantastic attractions Cornwall has to offer, not forgetting the warmth and friendliness of the Cornish people themselves.

Tintagel

Come to North Cornwall and enjoy 60 miles of dramatic Atlantic Heritage Coast - cliffs, coves, market towns, farmsteads and enchanting Bodmin Moor, Country Houses and Historic castles including King Arthur's Tintagel. From Bude to Bedruthan there's golf, walking, cycling, quality eateries to suit all budgets and events all year round

WALKERS: Exposure to westerly storms and pounding surf has given rise to the famously dramatic scenery of Cornwall's north coast, a landscape carved and sculpted by the sea, and made all the more exciting by the numerous tales of smuggling and wrecking that abound in her coves and caves. Walking the fifty or so miles of coast path between Portreath and Padstow, with its steep cliffs and endless granite steps, while definitely not for the faint hearted, is a richly rewarding experience.

GOLFERS: Golfing in North Cornwall offers many and varied types of fairway to tempt you out into the fresh air. From coastal golf courses like St Enodoc, Bude and Trevose to the inland golf courses such as St Kew, Bowood , Lanhydrock and Launceston. All the golf courses in North Cornwall offer excellent facilities and of course the stunning scenery alone is enough to get you out there.

BEACH LAYABOUTS:

Bossiney Haven. A hidden treasure of a sandy cove which is completely covered by high tide. Access to the beach is via steep steps which are not suitable for wheel chairs or push chairs.

Bude. A large seaside resort with an excellent beach called Summerleaze which includes a free tidal swimming pool
